You can post them here, I assume others might have the same questions too. Thanks for playing!!

Thanks :) apologies if I simply missed these in the rules. Im familiar with Ironsworn having played Starforged regularly so if the answer to any is narrative it makes sense.

  • How to find the boss room? Is it always just the last one?

  • Can you sell objects to NPCs using the value oracle if it makes sense narratively?

  • NPCs actions oracle, are these always required or can you decide based on the facts about them what they offer and roll on Wisdom for speechcraft to try and gain said thing possibly?

  • What does "Back tracking through a room requires a room roll at -3" mean? Is this just a d6 as normal -3?

  • Came across 3 times warriors (Hobgoblins) which meant after two rounds I was pummeled due to a few bad rolls, am I missing something? In fairness my stats were quite poor from the outset.

    • Could this be made easier by disabling an enemy or two using a combat maneuver and focusing on fighting 1 at a time if the narrative could fit?

  • Am I right in saying the scope isnt limited to "dungeons" as such and its just the case of treating an overworld environment as if it had "rooms" for places?Think you've already covered this.

  • Finally, if a room prompt says Food + Treasure, does the food part serve any purpose other than flavour (no pun intended haha)? e.g. can it be used to rest and restore health? Curious.

Thanks again! The first session is always hard to understand the general flow but can tell I'll thoroughly enjoy a drop in session every now and again with the game :)

Hello! Thanks for the questions.

  • Boss room is just a plus one room. So if you roll eight rooms, then play eight rooms normally, and add a ninth room as the boss room.
  • NPC 's can sell things if it makes sense narratively. As you noted, solo RPG'ing requires some self-initiated rulings that make it go smoothly.
  • NPC reactions are just there if you need them. If you've got a story going and don't need some inspiration then skip the oracle npc reaction roll.
  • Back tracking is a D6 minus three yes. Did this so that the rooms are almost always empty since you've been through them. But I didn't want people to just go free reign back tracking out of the dungeon to a town to restock items before fighting a boss without some level of risk.
  • Sounds like you got some bad luck on that one! Sometimes these rpg's will just get ya!
  • Exactly right, "rooms" should be interpreted lightly. Does not have to be a dungeon. Could be any setting.
  • Yes food is just a prompt. Nothing behind that really. But if the narrative fits, go with it! Maybe it's fake food and a trap!

Thank you for the questions!!

Really appreciate the reply, thank you 😊
