Very interesting strategy game! It took a little bit to get the hang of it and realize that I could move each piece multiple times if I wanted (i was by default thinking 1 move per unit). Very cool layers of strategy with the different piece limitations. The atmosphere from the audio was really great. Felt super ominous and dark, foreboding from these invaders from above. I love the background, the graphical style, and how the board appears, but I think the units could have a bit more distinction. The enemy 'humans' looked more like mines to me. I like the block low-poly look but i think slightly different silhouettes or color accents could help a lot with readability.
More technical feedback: I had a bit of trouble with clicks not registering my move sometimes, or accidental misclicks when I wanted to select a different unit instead of the currently selected one. There also seemed to be a slight discrepancy between clicking a unit vs. clicking the TILE itself which also gave me a bit of user error depending on the camera angle. (mostly from the chains obscuring my view).
It was also a little unclear if the humans would always attack on sight, or if they were going for the 'Opisthoteuthis' piece only. There were a bunch of phases that they were ignoring everything, then all of a sudden, one turn they decided to attack my Angler and I was pretty much doomed after that. I wonder how this would feel with a undo button to fix misclicks and be able to maximize your effects. Because from the few misclicks where I put my sniper one tile out of range, I messed up my chances of getting further.
Overall, fantastic game with a lot of interesting layers of strategy! The fish + sniper combo was pretty cool to utilize. Really fun with tons of room for expansion!! Great work!
