This game is really impressive for a jam and even more so for a first game ever. The idea is good, however, it's extremely difficult and i couldn't beat it. The chance to succeed when gathering resources is too low. The reward for doing so is not enough. If i get too cold, i have to look for wood, which takes 1 hour, and if i find wood i can survive for 1 more hour as far as i can tell. Because of that, to actually increase the time i can survive for i need to find wood many times in a row, which is very difficult because i can only find at most 1 wood at a time (as far as i could tell) and i find 0 very often. But sometimes i get lucky and get a lot of wood in a row. But then i get hungry because of the time it took to gather it. So i look for food. However, gathering food takes 2 hours, and feels even less likely to succeed. By the time I'm no longer hungry, I need to look for wood again, and this cycle repeats, and unless i get extremely lucky i end up dying. This makes it so i didn't even have a chance to look for balloon parts, which itself is incredibly unlikely, as it takes a long time to find an abandoned place to gather a balloon piece while hiking, and the chance to actually find the balloon piece when you do find an abandoned place seems extremely low too, as i only found a piece once. The only way i was even able to progress at all was by completely ignoring all my stats and hoping i didn't die before i found a piece, and even then i couldn't survive long enough to finish the game. Besides increasing the chance for success when gathering materials and increasing how many materials you can gather at a time, I would suggest adding something to make it not entirely luck based, maybe have a little minigame to complete when gathering materials to increase your odds of finding something, or being able to use some sort of resource to increase your chances, a bit like the game "60 Seconds!". This game really has potential and is extremely impressive, but it ended up being frustrating because of these issues.

Thanks for the input! I think its a great idea to make it not entirely luck based and to have a mini game to allow the player a chance to control if they do find it or not. I didn't have time to balance the game to make it less hard so I get the frustration. Thanks again :).
