I can answer that :) Q < Left Canon > E Right Cannon. F > Front Cannon. If you press X, you open the menu that tells you the mission status and objective and also consult the controls. I think he is someone very used to playing, so he must have understood that this is obvious, but it really isn't.

I will say, if you press start there is a tab that says controls on the pause menu, which you hit by pressing escape 😁

Also this was an entirely new control scheme and gameplay that I have ever made or played, that might go some way as to why I whiffed making the controls more apparent 

Control, once you understand the logic, is very comfortable and well done. The only thing I would add is a proximity arrow to other objects, to point out the closest enemy and replace the green buttons with translucent letters that activate each weapon. Because of the 3D world, some things are more demanded than others. I think if it was something 2.5D, front and back, like the Super Army War for GBA, you could keep the gameplay but make navigation less unreliable. However, I understand that this would practically make the game a shoot them UP and the strategic part would die.  I played like I had on Newgrounds and it was fun ;)
