I thought this was a unique and neat entry. I was impressed that you had a top down RPG setup AND a platform setup all in one for this jam. I also appreciated the injection of humor into the game (the father's unpaid taxes especially). I didn't beat the game because I kept getting killed in the second platforming segment, and I found it difficult to know which pit to fall into and which would kill me if I fell into it. But otherwise, I thought it was really cool. Good job!

I understand your concerns regarding the pit mechanics but here’s a tip from me;
if you would like to determine whether a pit is deadly or not, check to see if there are any other possible routes to get across. If there’s none, then that pit is safe and you can continue.
