Thanks, depending if i have more free time i have another project in the works for PS2 as well, may submit it here

hey i just found your "retro indie vintage jam" from last year and the discord link was dead, i would like to join your discord, i make games for older consoles as well

well if you ever want to learn let me know, i'm pretty sure i can help with that, anyways i'll start thinking on an idea for a game for the ps2 toy jam 2024

Thank you for the honesty, and no need for jealousy, what i do, you can do too, you just need to start writing code for whichever console you like the most

if you need help, i have a discord server and i also have books on particular topics and such that can help you out
also what i did to accomplish what i have, was surround myself with very talented programmers and asked them even the dumbest of questions, i have gotten help from a lot of people to get to the point of writing my own games from scratch

I'm interested in participating, but i saw that there is also a 2024 running
should i join this one or join the 2024 ?

(1 edit)

music is the only think i have heard for now, but we would have to sit down and talk,

thank you, one of the cubes is at the beginning of the level right behind the player
you may have missed that

and no the animation lock is a bug, didn't have much time to fix it in the first release, and the second release was just dealing with engine memory leaks, it's awesome to know you liked the game

this comment made my day thank you XD,
i was trying to build it a bit more complex but some problems prevented it

thank you, the engine used has only been in development for 3 month so it's pretty crude still but i didn't expect it to crash that bad XD

if FreeDVDBoot every takes off and works on all models the ps2 will get just as good as Dreamcast when releasing games for sale

i too am waiting but until then i'll try to release an actual big game for Dreamcast instead

thank you, i'm trying to fix some memory leaks right now and maybe actually finish the game

Avena Engine is my engine it's not public as of now, but there are other ps2 game engines that are public one very well known one is Tyra Engine and AthenaENV, you can take a look at those,

Avena engine will become public in the near future tho if you want to wait for that as well

thank you, i'm fixing a bunch of memory leaks as we speak, and the game does have camera rotation, so i don't quite understand that part of the comment, do you mean faster rotation ?

that's related to PCSX2 not the game, the BIOS its asking for is the 'PS2 BIOS' which you can dump from your PS2 or find in various illegal ways

Looking for 2D artist for 2 possible things, textures and UI work mostly, the game is going to be a 3d game that will run on actual Playstation 2 hardware in my own game engine so some restrictions do apply

sadly it's not, as i wrote the engine in this game exclusively for the GameCube, and i would have to rewrite a lot of code to make it run on other platforms. which i will not have the time to do so,

but i'm open to giving the source code to you and you can take your time to port it to any platform of your choice if you'd like

sadly there isn't a psvita version, and most likely won't be one
as i'm building a new engine and most old project will not be compatible with it

awesome, you can send the copy here
grammerp0@gmail.com

and please provide a link i can post here for where people can buy the BrewOtaku magazine,

your work is much appreciated

thank you, i'll try but i am re-writting my game engine right now (i was using C and now i'm moving it to C++)

so it make take some time before i start releasing games again

PS1 version was made first and 10 levels was all i could fit in the 2mb's of ram

you don't need a gamecube, Dolphin emulator is enough to play the game

Mike Is trying to escape,
he doesn't know where he is not knowing that there is an observer (the player)
you can see the reality that he can't can he escape?!

Mike Visor is a game build for the Playstation 1 (PSX)
if you wish to play it you may need an emulator unless you have a modded Playstation 1 (PSX)
in the near future the game may be ported to other platforms

This 3d puzzle game consists of finding the patterns of all the crystals in each stage to progress.

As of now there are only 9 stages available (may change in the future)

If you wish to play this game or want more info, please follow the link below

i could help with that, just need the source ;)

Windows version tomorrow, now let me sleep

Thank you very much, we had a Rebirth idea but due to time constrain we have to cut out more then %50 of the game ideas, since the game was made from scratch in the 9days given, but that's not an excuse and we are sorry for that

The game plays well but (since you are using unity you should apply a physics on the character that provents it from "frictioning" with the walls)

but the level design and overall gameplay is really good and i spent quick the time in the game but once again (the point at the beginning) is the reason i stopped playing because it would get stuck to walls

if you can polish this one up a bit i think you have a really good game in your hands a little golden gem

thank you very much, and don't worry you were very close to the end most likely
we had a person speed run it in 46 seconds pretty funny XD

thank you, we tried our hardest to make it as long as possible but due to the short time and the game being created from scratch it was kind of a limit XD

sorry for ear blasting you btw

Thank you so much, and sorry it was short, it was created from scratch in a short time but we had fun and tried hard to make it

thank you for the feedback, the game was originally going to use Gamepads but decided to scrap that out,  but i will keep in consideration the control layout you just presented for future releases

thanks bro, i was going to ask you to make the music but didn't want to bother so decided to experiment

thank you man you are worth a million

Thank you very much, we will start playing submissions very soon and leaving feed backs and all the art design was created by AlphaLilliy very good artist

the games was a full tutorial XD but for 9 days i believe we did as much as we could

thank you for letting me know, it's a testing tool i forgot to disable, but usually if you tap the ouya controller mouse pad in any possible way it will spawn all players at once, i'll remove that next update and that small problem should me solved

XD thank you, really did enjoy making that ending

yes i see what you meant, i'm sorry,  jump is very precise and it took me 2 tries,
but you have to hang on to the ledge (hold in the direction you are jumping and once grabbed on to ledge keep holding in the direction you were holding and then press SPACE/ARROW UP (jump) to climb up)

it's a messy implementation now that i think of it... sorry

you have to go around it (up) and after you go through all that, you should fight a red mini boss of sorts and he will enable a hammer (right arrow key or R1/Rbumper on controller)

Bricks can't be broken without the hammer, so at the beginning it's more  of a explore with limitations

thank you for finishing the game, it was the soul reason of finishing it in the first place.

yeah sorry about the enemies, i thought i was going to have time to program a complex game and well it so turns out that 30 days isn't much, but for my next try I'll keep that in mind

thank you very much, if you get all the way to the end there's a little something that i think everyone will like

i contacted him through his discord
and he is pretty awesome and straightforward to talk to
