Thanks so much! alot of the sound effects are from asset packs by kenney, but the 'bar filling up' sound was one i made from scratch so that's nice to hear.

i remember your game from speedjam #5 and thought it was super cool, we should collaborate some time! :))

Hey, I can't seem to play your game! Did you manage to submit anything?

If you haven't had a chance yet, feel free to check out A Way Up and let us know what you think! We'd love to hear your feedback. Well done to everyone who took part in the jam, there was some really great submissions. Thank you!

Cool game! Liked the simple yet addictive gameplay. I played on mobile and it worked great. Not sure how well it fits into the speedrun concept, but good work!

Cool game :) as others have mentioned you can get a bit stuck on either side of the level boundary but it is possible to hop back onto the platforms and get out of the corner if you time it right. This did feel a little unintuitive so perhaps some way to reset your position to the centre could be good. Loved how the game was playable on mobile and the stylish art and funky music were both fantastic. The gameplay was pretty fun and picking up the keys in quick succession one after the other was quite enjoyable. I'm not sure how well the gameplay fits with the speedrun theme tho. The game would benefit from some sound effects. Overall, great work!

Wow, what a cool game! I loved how the gameplay switched up per area which made it feel like lots of little mini games rolled into one. You were able to execute this in a clear way that was easily understandable. I especially liked the doppelganger section. One the cave level, I found the second key before the first and had to go back because I didn't spot that cracked stone section that you're able to enter. Maybe a tile of a slightly different colour would help make this more clear, although you did acknowledge this in the game. Also, some kind of visual indication of your dash cooldown could be good as I died a few times expecting to be able to dash to safety, but I got used to this the more I played. I couldn't go into fullscreen but that could be an issue on my end.

I thoroughly enjoyed the art, each level felt unique & interesting yet cohesive as a whole. In terms of audio, the music was cool and reflected the vibe of the different areas well, I especially liked the theme for the space level. The music would have benefitted from being seamless loops. There's a few tutorials online on how to do this, I can recommend this one on YouTube. The jump sound effect did get a little tiresome after a while hearing it so often, so maybe some variation on this front either through different sounds that are chosen randomly or some kind of pitch randomization, although I don't know how easy that is to implement in your game engine.

Overall a really great submission, well done everyone :)

You're welcome :) Would love to hear what you think of our game if you get a chance to play it!

This is an excellent submission. I loved the surreal art style. The player character's sprite and animations were especially good, kinda reminded me of Toejam for some reason lol. Also loved the big giants. I liked the double jump mechanic and the controls were explained well, sometimes I had to press jump and dash at the same time to get enough height for certain jumps which took me a sec to figure out. The game would benefit from some sounds. Overall had a lot of fun with this and was surprised to discover its your first game. Please keep making more :))

I spent 35 minutes with this game, the music was incredible and loved the art too! Plasma Paul is great. The upgrades you can collect add variety to the gameplay as you progress. Sometimes it was a little hard to tell where I was supposed to go, but I found my way eventually. There was a good amount of checkpoints throughout the levels that were well-placed. You can actually tongue spam through walls and get out of the level to cheese certain areas haha. Had a lot of fun with this one!

I liked the movement mechanics and how the ice guy spins as you jump around :)) One thing I would suggest is making it a little clearer that the player can go into the darker tiled sections as I didn't realise that at first. Overall I had fun with it tho, good job!

Florian Castel was able to achieve a time of 01:16.33 and now holds the current world record!

Thank you very much :)) the music was a little rushed, I only had around 4 hours to work on it since I devoted the majority of my time to sound design, but still pretty happy with how it turned out!

Thanks so much, that means a lot. Really happy you enjoyed the game! I loved Cardinal btw.

Thanks so much for your kind words regarding my sound design, it really means a lot! Glad you enjoyed it ♥️

Great game, loved the art style and music. The movement mechanics forced me to slow down despite being conscious of time. Once or twice I got stuck on my corpse from a previous attempt which got me killed :( Not sure if that was intentional but it felt a little unfair. Overall though I had fun with the game, amazing job!

Loved the visual aesthetic and movement mechanics, sometimes it was a little hard to tell where I was supposed to go and I got stuck on the terrain quite a lot. One of the harder games I've played in this jam. As others have mentioned, the camera could use a little work, but I understand that's difficult to get perfect... Overall great work!

Very unique and well executed movement mechanic that kept me engaged till the very end. Loved the music too. Would have loved gamepad support but that's about it! Amazing work.

Very original take on the theme! Loved the art & music. Wasn't sure how to avoid the spinning attack, clearly a skill issue tho. Overall great job!

Loved the game, felt great to play. I turned to try and shoot the alien at the last part where you jump to reach your spaceship and fell off twice :( all the other enemies were dead so had to slowly walk back. An instant restart from last checkpoint button would be a great addition. Other than that, really fun game!

Excellent submission, feels very polished. Loved the sound design and music. The ascending pitch of the gem collect sound was a really nice touch and fits with the theme well. Probably my favourite so far!

Loved this game, especially the music!

A tier zelda cave music and beautiful art
