Liked the Drifting of the Bike, Just the way you seem to fall all the time and need to never take a quick turns kinda sucks as while you are mountain biking, it would be fun to speed up the Mountain which you can do

Submitted(+1)

Love the mountain bike concept and the slidey drifting physics was actually really fun! The gameplay was super engaging, but I struggled with the camera angle when moving towards it as it made it difficult to see upcoming turns. It led to me messing up quite a bit. Additionally, having to redo large sections after falling towards the end felt a bit frustrating. Maybe shorter checkpoints would have kept the flow going more smoothly? Overall, it's a really nice and enjoyable mountain bike sim!

Submitted(+1)

This one was great! I did not think the movement would be as polished as it was here, and the visuals look great too! Nice one

Submitted(+1)

That was brutal. Nice job.

Submitted(+1)

Except for that one turn at the end it was pretty fun, did give up on that. The checkpoints felt pretty generous, controls felt good by and large, and overall it was a really, really solid entry. Great work :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes that last turn is pretty brutal and will be improved in an update after the jam :)

Absolutely love it, so much fun, music fits really well! I'm absolute rubbish at it, but it was very fun.

Submitted(+1)

I love the low-poly environment. It looks great. It's probably a lot of fun once you've mastered the controls, but I had to go as slowly as possible so as not to fall off the track. I still managed to reach the end, so I'm proud of myself! Great game :)

Developer

Thank you for playing and GJ for reaching the end!

Submitted(+1)

Amazing, love that you took the time and made settings for music, a really good game, really good sound effects, great aesthetics. Love it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Yes, I figured I'd use the additional time from the itch.io server outage to add some menus and stuff. I also figured that if anybody truly were to try and speedrun the game they might want to mute the single music track while still being able to hear the SFX.

Submitted(+1)

That is amazing, glad someone shared the thought with me. But I didn't make SFX in time. Keep up the good work man :D

Submitted(+1)

Its very hard to control the bycicle, but its very fun to do it!!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the visual aesthetic and movement mechanics, sometimes it was a little hard to tell where I was supposed to go and I got stuck on the terrain quite a lot. One of the harder games I've played in this jam. As others have mentioned, the camera could use a little work, but I understand that's difficult to get perfect... Overall great work!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes, I was not fully satisfied with the camera, but I couldn't really put any more time into it during the jam and figured it was "good enough". In terms of getting lost I think the bigger mistake was that the path isn't clearly visible at the start of the track, which would have been an quick and easy fix...

Submitted(+1)

The game looks great and the animations for the biker feel super responsive and dynamic! I think the camera choice is interesting but makes it harder to control on m + keyboard. The ground feels super slippery sometimes and your bike will just drift to narnia but overall really fun and unique entry ! GG

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Yes, the drift is often times a bit too much, I think I kind of overdid it because I just love drifting so much! Will improve in a future update.

Submitted(+1)

The low poly style fits very well. I loved the visuals including the UI of the game. I would have loved to be able to look around using the camera at least to some degree. The bike feels a bit unresponsive to input at some points. Overall, it is a great entry. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I used the additional time granted to us by the mysterious itch.io server god to give the UI the attention it usually doesn't get from me during game jams. So thank you for noticing :)

This game is great, good example of a game that is easy to learn and hard to master.
The graphics, style and music really reminds me of older bmx/skating games, love it!
I do feel like the game punishes you in the wrong way though.
Since the bike grip is so slippery you want to drift all the time to stay on the path and not fall off, but that the same time the path is very narrow and have parts sticking out causing you to bump into them over and over. It makes you wanna hug the wall the entire time, or go super duper slow.
I would either make each path much wider so the drifting feels nice and smooth, or give the bike a lot more grip to maneuver.

Other than that, the game is great! Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Old skateboarding/snowboarding games were a big inspiration indeed (think THPS1 & 1080 Snowboarding), so I'm glad you said this <3
I really should have just made the path a bit wider... next time I'll try to get some external feedback before submission is due. Playing/Testing the game so much during development you get kind of used to and blind towards the small issues/difficulty (fun fact, in German there's a word for this: betriebsblind).

Submitted(+1)

I definitely feel that haha, but it's so hard to playtest and get others feedback in such a short game jam!
The road thing is a very minor thing, I just wanted to tell you because I myself love feedback

The game is super good man, fantastic job! <3 Awaiting the steam release ;D

This is one of the best entries. I think my favorite so far! There is so much going right. The UI, the controls, and art style, and the camera work are all great. You did a good job. The bike felt nice to control.
Overall, great game you can be proud of. I couldn't finish it though. The mountain terrain seemed impossible at one point.

Submitted(+1)

Very hard game but I like the control and art style!  This is a really amazing game, well done!

Submitted(+1)

so fucking hard ahhhhh

for real tho this concept is really cool and the execution is even better!

kudos to you

Submitted(+1)

Love the low-poly art style. The game is also really fun! Cool GAME!

Developer

Thank you very much! I was originally thinking of going a different direction with the art style, but I wasn't satisfied with the visuals I got from other more standard terrains and then really liked the low poly style.

Submitted(+1)

super well polished, the bike was a little too hard to control though.

Developer

Thank you very much! Though I am very pleased with how the bike controls, I admit that it might take some time to get used to. I invested a big chunk of my dev time into the bike controls, so much in fact, that I probably got very used to it while testing and didn't really anticipate the players' struggle.

A tutorial-esque additional race track was literally the next thing on my ToDo-List, but my time kind of ran out. The prolonged submission timeline would have probably been enough, but I had other obligations... Maybe after the rating period!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah it was really well done but it the bike drifts a little too much in my opinion.

Developer

Now that you say it. Less/no drifting when riding slowly would probably be a big improvement for most people starting the game. I usually try to ride as fast as possible at which point the drifting feels great.

Submitted(+1)

This is fun! I do think the camera could use a little work, and a minimap or some kind of direction showing you which way to go would be great, but it seems like it would be really fun to speedrun. Good job overall!

Developer

Thank you! I think I kind of figured the camera was "good enough" because I, a) know the track pretty much blindly, because of testing/playing it so much and b) the camera issues are way more apparent when moving slowly, which I rarely do (see a) :D)
