I realize this is something people have to get use to, in that XR is not just what is in front of you

Fun little retro game with a twist

Movement is a little too slow, otherwise make some more levels.

I have no idea why story is part of the score.

Fun twist on a sort of retro style game.

Please go and look into the idea of controlling the two halves independently, that sounds awesome.  Could even go into a couch co-op.

Awesome direction for a small indie game.

Be cool to allow for some mixing up the order or length out the suspense.

Small bug, I can't click play or quit at the end.

I'm annoyed that there is a score for story because it is the only thing missing and it is clear you don't need it.

You should find a way to release it as a mobile game. It is definitely one of those I'm stuck on the train type games

Yea I'm aware of some of those.  Will fix them when I start building the game out more.

Last year was my first time doing a game Jam, however I wasn't working at the time, so I was bale to dedicate my fulltime behind it.  This year I've signed up but it is right before a conference I need to attend so this is going to be a hit and miss.

All I can say is Keep It Simple S*****.  May not win the jam but it'll give you something to launch from latter or at least give you something to add to your portfolio

Yea someone mentioned tests in a previous comment.  The original Idea was to have some sort of punishment for picking up false treasures (glass/fool's gold).  Sadly I didn't get around to doing anything because I was focused on making sure the main mechanics worked.  Definitely something I can expand upon as I did leave room for expanding the treasure concept

Always fun  to see a fellow kiwi in amongst this, not enough of us take the risk.

Yea the Damage decals weren't added due to time.

Music wasn't added due to I'm not exactly sure where to find god royalty free music, and I was focused on game mechanics.

Nicely done.

Biggest issue is the movement feels a little sluggish, and both the character and enemies get caught on random bits of terrain.


Overall I enjoyed it and has lots of room to expand upon

I struggled with the controls, it felt like nothing was responding, and everything just kept going out of control.

The premise looks cool, and has a lot of potential.

Really cool to see a retro Doom style.

Came across a bug, where when I reloaded the game a random non-functional health bar sat above the recital.

While the Minecraft style visuals we cool, the overall game controls felt sluggish, unresponsive or to sensitive.

The other major issue is I couldn't really tell which were the good gold and which were the bad, so basically I felt like I was gambling.

Overall a lot of potential

Nice for a simple Metroidvainia style game.

I found the movement was a little inconsistent and I got stuck on the wall at one stage.

It would also be nice to have some little hint as to which coins are cursed, otherwise I'm just collecting all of them hoping I don't die.

There was also little indication I need to return to the beginning

Zombies too many zombies.

I found a golden door which was the wrong one. Not sure if there actually is a true door but overall still fun and interesting

Fun old school style of gameplay.

Ending was a little weird, but otherwise overall well designed.

Adding in a global leader board could make it more competitive.

The collection of treasures when time runs out is something I missed checking, my fault.  Shouldn't be to hard to fix

Again that is an interesting bug, probably linked to the first bug so shouldn't be hard to fix.


Yea the Test was an idea I had.  I guess I was looking at having some punishment for collecting "glass" and "fool's gold" but failed to implement.
