Good submission Good job.
It has all been said below... so I just want to say that I like the idea, think it has potential and well done for submitting!
Neat little game. The comments below pretty much already cover my feedback so i wont go over it again for you as it has been mentioned. Well done though in getting a game completed. I played it on my livestream tonight and you can check it out if you would like on the replay
I like your game, its fun to try and build up your money.
I have some questions though (and this is before reading other comments).
- why use a test? when I clicked on the treasure I got the money anyway, do you get more if you test it?
- you need some sort of way to leave the game during the game itself, maybe it then takes you to a start highscore / screen (you can grab my source code for doing that)
I think you should continue to develop it, you have a fun concept that just needs expanding.
Hey thanks for that.
Yea someone mentioned tests in a previous comment. The original Idea was to have some sort of punishment for picking up false treasures (glass/fool's gold). Sadly I didn't get around to doing anything because I was focused on making sure the main mechanics worked. Definitely something I can expand upon as I did leave room for expanding the treasure concept
Neat little game! As previous commenter said, some music and damage decals would be helpful, but you already know that! My only other thought would be a some type of "Are You Sure" pop up if you move to another area but forgot to pick up a gem as I did that a few times. Great game though and hope you can expand on this one further!
Good job on this!
Couple suggestions I thought of while playing:
We could buy lumber for reinforcing, then you could make each section bigger.
Damage decals on the blocks that take more than 1 hit.
Some music to set the mood.
But you've got the basics down, well done!
Always fun to see a fellow kiwi in amongst this, not enough of us take the risk.
Yea the Damage decals weren't added due to time.
Music wasn't added due to I'm not exactly sure where to find god royalty free music, and I was focused on game mechanics.
Great idea for a game, I enjoyed it! The menu states would be improved if they were less intrusive - in the case of buying picks, is there ever a situation where someone wouldn't want to buy a pick? Maybe buying picks automatically would keep the flow going smoother.
Original game! It is fun to play! Good work!
Cool idea. But it's strange that every time the pickaxe ends, a screen appears with the option to restart, the same is repeated when the area collapses, it would be better if they were just warnings on the hud, which didn't interrupt the game experience.
Fun game I got hooked so fast lol.
I want to point out a few bugs though.
1. when the time ran out and the buttons to go to the next area appears, I could still mine treasures in the background.
2.when I ran out of picks and the screen to buy more picks or go to main menu appears if I have no money and click the buy picks button i still get to mine treasures all the way through.
and also I couldn't figure out how to use tests and what they do. is this a feature you did not have enough time to implement or something? or am i completely missing something here lol.
Thanks for the feedback
The collection of treasures when time runs out is something I missed checking, my fault. Shouldn't be to hard to fix
Again that is an interesting bug, probably linked to the first bug so shouldn't be hard to fix.
Yea the Test was an idea I had. I guess I was looking at having some punishment for collecting "glass" and "fool's gold" but failed to implement.
Ahhh that would have been a cool feature to see... great work anyways.
