Yeah, the game is intentionally fast, and I probably wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who’s not skilled at platformers (though I’m saying this as someone who’s somewhat eh at platformers myself :P). I definitely agree with the last sentence. In a future update I might zoom out the camera so you can see ahead, as I said to another commenter who also put the camera as an issue for them, and hopefully take the time to balance out the levels to better accommodate the player’s speed. Thanks for playing!
Ah, I see. Yeah, I am having the same issues with the fish getting stuck whenever I playtest. I feel like that might (at least partially) have to do with some weird collision stuff that might have been my bad as well as some general gamemaker wackiness. I also get your point about the sprites. Perhaps the game kinda is just a speedy platformer with a fish skin now that I think about it. I suppose that even if I keep the core gameplay intact I should probably add more “fishy” mechanics and obstacles so that I can address this issue. Glad you somewhat liked the level design, though. Thanks for playing!
Pretty neat and chill homage to the classic Club Penguin minigame. While I encountered a couple of bugs, including the music not looping after a certain point, and I perhaps would have liked for the game screen to be a bit bigger (iPad user), I found it to be relaxing and fun! My high score is 364, btw.
This game is amazing! The art is great. The music, while short, is SUPER GOOD! The hats (at least the ones I found thus far) were snazzy as they should be. The randomness adds to the experience. The controls even make the game very mobile-friendly, I should add. The gameplay itself is generally very challenging and fun.
The problems I had were that I died a few times because I didn't know what to do in certain areas such as with the bubble. Jumping is weird too. I have to press space *quickly* to double jump, but when I press space at a slower pace I jump and dash. This one is fine however. Oh yeah, and add a button which takes me back to the main menu and exit the game please, as I would like to not have to use CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart the game.
Great job! I enjoyed playing one of the greats in this jam! Looking forward to future updates!
Hey! That's pretty good! The art is bright and colorful, the writing is funny, and the controls are solid! I especially like the way you control the boat in this game using your mouse.
The battle system is pretty cool as well. While monsters do show up literally every time I traverse the seas, the system involved is simple and can involve a little bit of strategy as well.
While the music I feel is a little "meh" for me personally, I feel that the good aspects of this game makes up for it and that this game is still an enjoyable experience regardless of the music! Also, I felt like the character could be a little bit faster, but I think that's just me.
Just so you know, I did encounter one bug with the game. When I pulled up the pause menu and resumed the game, I wasn't able to control the character. I couldn't move him and I couldn't access the log. To fix this, you need to quit to the menu and then go back into the game.
Overall, this is a very good game! Keep it up (if you can)!
I have played your game and so far I think it's pretty solid. The art is good and the fact that it's random every time really adds to the experience. It's a very good point n' click game overall. In a way, this game can get a little addictive the more I play.
The music is very well done, as well! I haven't played any games yet that might have better music than your game's, but so far I think you might have a good chance of winning the "best music" category. "Time is your friend~". Nice job Leonardo Muller-Rodriguez!
As for what you can add, I would like to see different locations each time you play (not just the house!) to make it even more random and replayable. Maybe you could even have multiple types of duck bombs with different buttons for those locations to keep the player thinking. There is definitely a lot of potential here! I might play whatever updates for this game there may be!
