Hey all,

A bunch of new participants have joined the jam today and yesterday, so welcome! I'd like to encourage you to join our Discord server for the latest updates on the jam:

https://discord.gg/P4ucQZJUvv

I generally try my best to mirror all the announcements on both the Discord and our itch.io community page, but our Discord server is the primary spot for all jam-related discussion and info.

Click "more info", then "run anyway".

Great art and aesthetic! I think the music turned out great, especially under the tight time constraints. My biggest gripe is that a lot of checkpoints are placed before moving platforms that aren't necessarily difficult but take time to cycle which adds on a few seconds before each attempt at the next platforming challenge. Amazing game overall!

Yeah, I had to cheese my way through the final third of the game. Shame because the gameplay and pacing is very good for the first 2/3.

Great game

That's hilarious! I wish I could help you out but the project files are on my old PC about 2 hours away :(

when isp art 2 coming i NEED TO KNOW

Thank you for your feedback! The reason is half ease of use and half me being in a rush. Originally, the circle select tool did work like the rectangle tool, but constrained to have a constant radius. After some testing, it became apparent that the awkward snapping caused by this restriction wasn’t worth the consistency. Turns out the problem of smooth elliptical selection is less trivial than I once thought. Once I got used to the new system I found that it was actually faster than my previous setup. I did worry about the inconsistency being confusing to new players, but figured it wouldn’t be a problem. In post-jam testing, however, it became apparent that it was actually was an issue when everyone I watched playing struggled with selection the first time around. It didn’t help that I made the late addition of the undo button being an unlockable upgrade which requires you to make a few paintings before being able to afford it. I’m glad you enjoyed the game despite that!

Since I cannot delete individual ratings (and because I don't want to remove anyone's submission if I don't have to), I'm leaving yours up. In the future, please don't ask for votes from people whether you know them or not. It isn't fair for everyone else and makes it into a popularity contest which goes against the spirit of the jam.

Why create alt accounts to comment and vote up your game? If you can’t give an explanation I’m going to have to disqualify you.

I think the download is broken. When I launch the EXE it just asks me to open a file, then quits.

Game was fun, would have been cool if the path to each ending was more varied. Also, music could use some work. I get the impression that it was a last-minute addition, so maybe just forego it entirely in a post-jam version since it somewhat takes away from the otherwise fun (and surprisingly polished, considering the one-week deadline) gameplay.

Shoot, I probably didn't build it right! A lot of the other jam games are Windows only, but you could probably get them to run through Wine if you have the chance: https://www.winehq.org/

This thread might help:

https://forum.unity.com/threads/the-application-cannot-be-opened.404388/

If not, it's an issue with my build which unfortunately I can't update until after the jam :(

A sincere thank you to every participant and everyone who cheered us on! Minus some technical difficulties, I believe since this beats our previous submission record, it could be considered the Best YeegJam Yet™️!

Voting is now open! If you participated in the jam, you are strongly encouraged to rate other games. If you have not participated, we would still love your feedback! Our participants worked hard to make their games and I'm sure they would love to hear your feedback. If you participated, but were unable to finish your game before the deadline, drop a link to your game (finished or otherwise) in

this thread whether you're looking for feedback or just want to share how far you got. Voting will close one week from now.

Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the jam. For many of us, game jams are a chance to really hone our craft and push ourselves to the limit skill-wise. YeegJam is my semi-bi-yearly excuse to actually finish a project, so I'm glad we could see it through to the end!

See you next year!

1.) What are you doing to stay on track to finish your game by the deadline?

Crunching as hard as possible lol

2.) Have you overcome any difficult task(s) today?

UI scaling issues, getting sound effect

3.) What do you still have left to do?

I have to add more content with the systems I've set up for myself.

4.) Are you satisfied with your progress so far?

To be honest, I feel like I'm starting to fall behind, especially since I'm busy for most of the day now so I can't keep progressing at the same pace I was.

Time for another daily check-in!

  1. What are you doing to stay on track to finish your game by the deadline?
  2. Have you overcome any difficult task(s) today?
  3. What do you still have left to do?
  4. Are you satisfied with your progress so far?

No spoilers if possible, reply to this thread with your answers.

  1. I fixed a few serious bugs that have been annoying me for the past few days.
  2. Getting the game loop to work seamlessly has taken longer than expected.
  3. I'm spending my time polishing, fixing bugs, and finishing up the rest of my game.
  4. See below:

Sorry for the crops, just about any full screenshot of my game is a spoiler so these will have to do.

YeegJam V community · Created a new topic Day 4 check-in!

I have been posting daily check-ins in the Discord server, but I'm going to start posting them here for everyone else!

  1. How has your progress been today?
  2. Is there anything that's taking longer than expected?
  3. How are you spending your time in the second half of the jam?
  4. Can you share any screenshots?

No spoilers if possible, reply to this thread with your answers.

Thanks, have fun!

You can use software like GameMaker studio as long as the final build (what the player has to download) is self-contained in something like a zip or exe so they don't have to download anything else but the game itself.

If you're looking for topic ideas, check the Google Forms doc on the jam page, it has some examples.

Why would you do that to yourself? Glad you enjoyed the game!

Simple mechanic leads to surprisingly engaging levels, very cool!

hey uh you still havent released the big update...

Among Us is P2P I think

The free version is an Android download if that's what you mean.
