Thanks for this feedback.  You, Wikipedia, and the cart itself are correct and my text is in error. I'll update the text when I release more lessons in February.

Yes, you can download all the carts.  If you look at the heading for each lesson, there is a load command, for example LOAD #MUSICTHEORY6. If you enter this command into the PICO-8 console, it will download the cart and make a copy in your carts folder.

Hi, there.  I added your game to the calendar on Lexaloffle this morning.  Because your game arrived a little late I had to use it to replace the oldie game that appeared on the 23rd.  Your game is in the center of the bottom row of the calendar.  Thank you for the contribution. https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=145806

You are now free to make a public listing on lexaloffle if you want.

If it runs properly on the BBS, you can submitted it to this year's calendar: https://itch.io/jam/pico-8-advent-calendar-2024 if you'd like.  We still have slots open and this game would make a welcome addition.

Was this game ever in a PICO-8 Advent Calendar?   It should be.  It's excellent.

The Advent Calendar is up on Lexaloffle: https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=145806.   Hooray!

We currently have about half the games we hoped for, but expect more carts to come in soon.  If you haven't submitted a cart yet, please try to finish.  We could all use more holiday cheer this year and your game is important to us.  We will continue to take entries up until the 25th, but the sooner you get your game in, the more time people will have to enjoy it.

Thanks for your submission.  If you want your entry in the Advent Calendar bundle for Lexaloffle, you will need to make an unlisted post there:

  1. Go to lexaloffle.com
  2. Click your Lexaloffle profile.
  3. Select POSTS from the menu bar.
  4. Click New Unlisted Post.
  5. Upload your game cart and a 16x16 png to be used as an icon in the Advent Calendar.
  6. Include a title, brief description and your preferred credit

The jam is only for PICO-8 games-- no Picotron.  We're trying to keep things simple and traditional this year.

Thank you!

I'm so glad to hear it's helping.  I also plan to release more lessons in the coming months.

That's an excellent idea.  I'll keep it mind for the next time I update Denote.

This sounds great!  There's no way to down the p8 file, though.

Very nice peaceful track.

The album cart is now available.  It is an optional set of customizable visualizers, which you can use to showcase your music.  Just add your music, cover art, and a little bit of meta-data to make your own album.

I highly recommend reading through the documentation before commencing.  There are so many customizable options.  Also, feel free to experiment with the code and add your own visualizers.

This is pretty fun and funny!

Aw, yeah, it may be, but  https://bikibird.itch.io/christmas-sneks isn't too bad.

It's a genre now!

A very stealthy entry indeed.  It was a lot of fun to play.  Lighting effects are too subtle.  Overhead lights should cast a light cone maybe.

You combined two things I love: PICO-8 and Stereograms.  Thanks for making this.

If we can do tools, then I'm in!

This is impressive!  PICO-8 is so great for creating that retro-computing experience.  I'm having flashbacks to my early days as an accountant.

So good.  Amazing work.

Glad you like it.  I plan on doing an update early next year.    I'll add audio export to the list.

If you have Pico-8 you can use ext_cmd("audio_rec") and ext_cmd("audio_end") to capture audio.

Denote has been fixed.  Thanks for reporting the problem.

Not sure what's going on. I would need the MIDI file to test it out.  What version of PICO-8 are you running.

If you can hear it through the PICO 8 player embedded in the web page, then the music data generated correctly and should be a simple copy and paste into the music tab in PICO-8.

If you post the MIDI file to the PICO-8 discord server, I could take a look at it. My screen name is bikibird.

In case you're curious, this is my attempt at a pure CSS Sony Trinitron: https://discord.com/channels/215267007245975552/734135597546995712/1012050258030...

Thanks for the heads up!  Made some css for simple scanlines.  No convexity, but it still suits.

After googling around a bit, I found this: https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=33488.  I think that's what you're using?  Not having luck getting it to work with the latest version of PICO-8.  May just have to do a simple CSS effect...

Love the CRT emulation! Do you have code you can share on how to do that? My latest project needs to scream late 70's/early 80's and this effect sure does that!

Very charming!

Um, yes.  Gonna PM you on Reddit...

Didn't quite get how to play the game, but it's very well done  Maybe needs a tutorial.

Oh, I thought you were using PICO-8.

Thank you!  Can't believe I got that backward!  Will definitely fix. X is X.  That should be easy to remember.

Really appreciate your feedback.  Yeah, I need to work on the collision detection.  It's not quite right.  Can you tell me more about what you mean about the wrong button?  I'm not understanding.  The UI is a bit complicated and I'd like to get it right.

Very enjoyable math drill.  Suggest giving the correct answer when a problem is missed.

Can you make this web playable please?

Pixel art is turned up to 11.  Really polished and fun.
