Thanks a bunch! Im planning to release it on Steam first and then think about a mobile port.
Please consider sharing the game with your friends, I cant afford ads so the game heavily relies on word of mouth ❤️
Yeah I have kind of tried doing all that already.
I mean, I AM part of the target audience so it's pretty easy to put myself into their shoes haha.
Thanks for the advice tho! I think I just kind of got unlucky with this one. I am currently saving up for a steam release of the game, maybe that will push it a bit.
Hey there! I am a student and in my free time I make smaller video games. Recently, I have published the Demo of my game "Flummy" in hopes of that leading to more traction when it comes to the full release. However, I only get around 3-5 views per day - if even. I have opened up a discord server, put out regular dev diaries, promoted the game on other game dev discord servers and on reddit and have also implemented small, non obstructive ads for this game in my slightly more popular games.
However, the game doesn't seem to get more views. What am I doing wrong? If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciated that!
(As said, I am a student - that's why I don't have the funds to pay for advertising)
In case you are still interested - the demo of my new game is out! https://blurryknight.itch.io/flummy

Also - I have a new Discord, you can join that through this games store page
Hey there! Since the original, official Terracraft Discord server has, for more than a year now, transformed into a hellhole full of spam and scam, id advise all of you to join my fanmade discord server to continue talking about the game (+ no phone verification required!). https://discord.com/invite/GKZCjJnyFF
For the dev: If any of you want to oversee this server, be sure to join and DM me! Ill give you the Admin role so you can be part of the team. Cheers!
Sorry for the late reply, i just looked on this page and saw it! Had no clue haha!
Anyways, thanks for the advice! I agree with most of your gripes as i made the game in two days (or one? I dont remember haha) for a game jam thing
The map indeed doesn't look great lol. I really have to improve that at some point...
Do you have any idea on how to improve the mechanic on which enemy you have to shoot? I dont think that i want an arrow pointing in that direction, as i still want it to be some kind of challenge to look for the next target, but i also dont want to have the player have it too hard lol.
What do you think of selecting that yourself? Aka; you press WASD to select the direction of the enemy you want to shoot and then you attack them? No clue if that would be a smart idea or a way to big challenge lol.
I could however also just put some kind of marker under the player maybe? Like a circle selecting it?
But well, i hope that you still read the message after almost a year xD
Thanks again for the informative and helpful reply! Cheers :)
I was working on a complete remake in scratch but realized that indeed, it has its limits. If you look at my other game (triangle hell) you can see that i can do cool stuff in scratch and that ive really improved myself. But i have some things that just cant be done on scratch and tbh i have kind of stepped away from programming overall. If youd like to, we could work together on some sort of "clicker 2.0" version. I can only work in scratch tho, but as said, i have greatly improved.
But yeah, thanks for the nice words! Ill definitley try learning HTML5 and remake the game in there. But thats going to take a lot of time haha. Cheers!
