Browser play gives little to no barrier of entry, while download requires additional actions (and trust) from the users. They didn't know me, so why should they trust my ZIP file?

Download also requires, in this case (and many others), a Windows PC. I'm delighted I can play this now! :D

I thought it was possible to sell web-based games, but maybe not... https://itch.io/t/2231694/selling-web-games

Yeah, I totally realise that all those options might be slightly trickier — you're not the only person releasing Windows-only games! It's not very scalable, but if you could easily produce a web version and send it to me directly, I'd be happy to pay you for it first! 🙂

My personal order of preference would be:

1. Switch

2. Web

3. Mac

4. Android

I'm not a big fan of mobile gaming, however, if Android is the only realistic release of those 4, I'd be happy to buy it to support what looks like such a great game.

Aww... I wish I could play — this looks right up my street. Sadly, I don't have a Windows PC. Are you planning on a release on any other platform?

Regardless, all the best for a successful launch  👍

I get an error trying to run the game in-browser (Chrome):

Uncaught DOMException: Failed to read the 'localStorage' property from 'Window': Access is denied for this document.

Opening the iframe URL directly, however, appears to work:

Love the look of this — if there's ever a web, Mac, or Switch version I'll be all over it!!

Damn, Apple sucks — in this one specific way, at least! However, the thought of a console release is an exciting one (especially if that includes Switch!...) In the meantime, I will flirt with the idea of installing Linux on a Mac Mini. For qomp.

FYI This sounds a bit like the 'standard error' that you get with a lot of non-app store programs on Mac nowadays. It's usually solved by moving the app from the folder you downloaded it to — e.g. move it to Applications — and then running again. Also, due to permissions/security, you might need to open it via right-click (menu), then "Open".

If you do all of that, you might then be faced with the "quit unexpectedly" message ... or you might get lucky :)

Is this Windows-only?

The mac app gives me an error :-(

Personally, I like having the option to game handheld & big screen - it really makes a difference. Plus, i prefer good old-fashioned controllers to touchscreen :)

Just played and reviewed this game. I found it pretty unnerving (that atmospheric soundtrack!) and the core mechanic was solid and easy to understand. Love the graphics — totally my style!

I think it needs 'something more' if it's to transition to a full game. Maybe less linear progression, maybe a few more mechanics. I can imagine this being a great handheld game — i.e. Switch.

Fun concept, very well executed. I would definitely buy a full-length, polished version of this.
