Also! A note, right now due to there being no light potion, the shadow snake is designed to be invincible. (Not sure what if I can edit the game desc while judging is going so commenting for that 

Following pixelfireplace's comment, I also didnt realize passive mode was active too. But the music was enjoyable and the seafolk surprising me from every angle was also easily getting out of hand haha. I enjoyed the 2 levels i ran but the sword range seems a little ambiguous (so i spammed until i died in round 2). The island and music was definitely charming too!

Thanks for the review and playing! Once judging is closed we will add more description on what hiding does. The band-aid for what it does is as follows:

  • Avoids contact damage from slimes and spiders
  • Avoids damage from "dark" attacks from the boss (purple attacks)
  • Enables damage from the snake 
  • Enables damage from light (both moving balls and columns from boss)

Its enjoyable mechanic but i think a togglable visual guide would help with in game decisions on how to damage the enemies (Though i did not read the quest text on how to defeat the enemies)

I really hope I didnt have to resubmit when I updated the itch.io page at 2:30 ish PM EST, if not enjoy v0.1!

Learned my mindset really determines more of my productivity than I thought! Moreso, that I can observe and guide my mindset to do things outside of my comfort zone AND sleep schedule... I'm dying squirtle... BUT it was all worth it. Going solo let me learn a bunch of faucets into game dev (except music cause my keyboard broke)
