I've just been testing this out.  The World Map can go to the city map, but the city map does not go to the world map - a different one is loaded up each time, even when going from World to City and back to World.

Ahh, so you mean develop the programming further?  At first, I thought you meant working towards Singularity X-D

Bots should have scooters too, to make them faster! :-D

Can you give an example of what you mean?  I'm curious.

I'd still like to be able to move the storage units as a feature, just to make it quicker.

I don't know how this game is developed, but it seems like things are based on co-ordinates and not IDs, meaning that once I delete and rebuild, I have to reassign Storage units by the co-ords.

Much nicer than mine.  My place is hectic! :-D

I do the same.  Must be the most efficient way :-D

Bots can only carry a certain amount of items - logs are rather large and Crude bots can only carry one.  Basic bots can carry two.

So what you mean is instead of using "Until Storage is full", use "Forever"?  Yea, thanks, I've already done that.

Obvious post is obvious.

But what happens if you set it to 96 items, then add further storage?  TBH, I don't really mind my bots standing at the Storage with hands full, because it is very short lived.

TBH, that would be great! That way it's one command which has multiple uses!

Cool.  I cannot think of anything where storage > 100%, but could we have until storage empty?  I guess it's automatic, but I'd like to keep the bots in the "starting" position than sitting around waiting :-)

Jolly good.  I've got a bit of a workaround.

Move a jobless bot to the point you want and then click on itself to recharge.

Ahh, cool.
I set up another "farm"; the soil was being fertilised with crop on it (and multiple times), and later the bot didn't sow any seed.

I don't know if that is the same issue.

If you have a lot (and I mean a lot), you can use Forever to group them all, and drag all commands out at once :-)

Autonauts community · Created a new topic Storage Not?

What does this do?

I don't know if it's supposed to have more "storage not full"?

There needs to be a way to lose resources, because of inflation.

I was in the same boat as you, and it looks real messy, so I build some more storage containers far away :-D

Yea, but I don't seem to have an issue with that.  I'm not making much on the metal so far, although everything is set up and ready.

(1 edit)

I've done some weeding and fertilised the ground, but none of my bots can find the soil to sow the seed; there are only a select few square which they can use.

EDIT: Looking into this, it seems to be because each bot follows the same path.  So I have a bot which fertilises, one who sows, one who reaps and one which harvests.  However, this causes a delay if the harvester hasn't cleared the square for the sower, as for some reason, they cannot find another "nearest" soil.

Update - this is particular true with my "medic" bot.  I set a rule to find the nearest bot to recharge, but the perimeter is set to where that bot was, not the location of the medic.

In order to cover each area, I need a bot to lose power at specific points, rather than set my own.

Autonauts community · Created a new topic Issue with milk

I've set up a rule for milking the cows.

I don't know if it's an issue with the buckets, or with the milk, but the rules get stuck on "add to storage"; whenever they are stuck, the buckets are empty, and I have to restart the loop.

Autonauts community · Created a new topic Fight mechanic?

I don't know if this has been suggested, or it's in the works, but I'd like to see a fight mechanic in the game.

I've pretty much got everything running smoothly now - I literally put in 12 hours playing yesterday.  I've seen the entire map, but want more.
I'm not complaining - that's a good thing.

One thing I'd like to see is the game open up more; more land, more things to discover, and also have some battle mechanics so resources can actually be used/lost.  Inflation is a nightmare for me X-D

I've got it set up so there are "axe-bots"; they're just a bot who deposits and withdraws an axe from storage each loop.
I've got another bot who creates all the axes until the box is full.  If I run out of axes, I just create another forty.

I built a tray... never used it.  I just don't seem to be in a short supply of wood :-D

I'm trying to set a rule where until milk storage is full, but I cannot select any of the storage when setting the rule.  I can select the other storage units just fine.

Autonauts community · Created a new topic Roamers

Could it be possible to have bots which are roamers.  These essentially just walk around (either randomly or you set a path) so they can perform tasks.

For instance, medic bots (okay, rechargers, but still) or scavengers (those who pick up sticks/clear land/etc.)

I've noticed this a few times, but whenever a bot goes to find the nearest of... they have a range.

However, they sometimes move themselves out of range, and if I move them, their range stays in the same location.

I've just got this with two buckets now.  It says "pick up bucket" but they aren't.  These are the same buckets which I cannot recycle.

And I thought I had a hard time understanding the game as it is! :-D
Could this be an optional feature?

I ask because I want to use this game to teach kids programming, and if things get too complicated, it won't help them learn :-)

Yea, the option is in Wood Router.   They require a single plank like the Crude version, so you can recycle a bot and build an upgraded version :-D

Do you also have looping individual tasks?  So you can send a bot to collect X-number of items?

Just on this, maybe a "clear" button may be useful.

I love this game, and it does a good job in learning programming, but it does get messy X-D

It's happened several times now.  I go to recycle a bucket and I get stuck in front of the machine, unable to move.

Autonauts community · Created a new topic Repeat/Loop Rule

I have OCD, so I don't like it when my bots are sitting around being held up.

I've created rules for buildings, the bots go and collect the materials for the foundations.  However, I don't want this on a infinite loop.

Right now the rules are single use, so if I do need to repeat the actions, I have to edit and go.
Can we get a quick Go button without editing, and possible an input to set how many times the rule should be looped?

They were empty handed, as was my character.

I'm going to try again once I've got my level sorted :-D

The shovel does the trick for bushes.

It's surprising how I didn't even try the shovel despite trying every other tool! :-D

(1 edit)

I did that, but it just looped through the Repeat section.

However, stopping and starting the bots again reset the loop (although I didn't notice them stopping again).

Is there a way to clear bushes, mushrooms, and weeds?
