Everything that you'd want from an indie title. I enjoyed the sound design the most. This scratches the itch (ha ha) for games like Torchlight for me with a bit more of a linear style (though there are side quests).

Definitely recommend!

Very fun! The depth of the stage is also really cool. You going to keep going with this idea? Power ups in the boxes etc?

Flip that was fun!!!

Well done on the starts of an entertaining interactive thing! If this could be adapted as a web app then people would go nuts (and you could chuck in a few ads to make some cheeky cash even).

Very fun!

Thanks so much for playing and I'm super stoked you enjoyed it!

I was in two minds about that animation but liked how it linked with having a strained mind, like not being able to think straight like Ilembe.

I'll work on some more fixes in the next few weeks so it's not solid.

Thanks again 😀

Thanks so much for the play and feedback!

I see the loop and wanted it to be an imagened death but didn't voice that clearly enough 😨

I also wanted to have an 'animation off' for accessibility but just didn't get there.

Thanks again 😀

Thanks so much for playing!

Thanks so much for giving it a play. I was quite torn when it came to timing. Initially I had it set up much quicker, like for the death of the Grootslang. I slowed it down to try and give the player the same feeling as the character, waiting in uncertainty.

Thanks also for the recommendation, I'll definitely check it out this weekend!

Initially I was like, "Why am I playing this?" Until I got to another level and realised how fun this is. It's super relaxing and enjoyable. It's really satisfying to use all the elements. It's like a colouring book. Well done on a rad game!

As others have mentioned, AI would have been great and I would have really enjoyed playing this with others! It's like Flappy Bird and Fall Guys mixed :)

The music is great and I dig the stop motion animation on the ship. I eventually found that bumping into the sides and trying to fly along like that worked best. Maybe there should be a greater consequence for sticking on the side? Maybe not. I think with lots of people it'd be mega chaotic no matter what.

Well done!

I enjoyed this so much! The pacing was excellent, there weren't 'cop-out' loops. Thank you for the experience and a well-written story. I am always sceptical of graphics in a text adventure but these added.

I'll definitely play any more of your interactive fiction pieces if you put them up :)

Thanks so much for playing!

I was quite torn about graphics/images. I suppose it is a reading thing, but I wanted the player to see it in their mind and not force them into what I see in my mind... if that makes sense...

But with the right art I suppose that wouldn't be an issue. Such a good one to think about.

Thanks again!

I remember a talk by someone once who said that you should always try to make the player feel the same as the character they are using. I could feel that a lot of the time. Your lighting and story added, and the sound design felt on point.

I'd be super interested to see how far you could take it and what you would change (graphics-wise) with more time...

Nice!

I'll definitely keep going with this. Animations and camera were really nicely done. It was relaxing and intensified but wasn't unfair. Very cool, guys, if you get a chance I'd say keep developing for it :)

Phenomenal! This is so much fun. The AI is probably my favourite element. It's so flipping cheeky and knows just when I'm winding up to throw.

The animations are really fun, gameplay is great and it's genuinely exciting. I got down to a 1v1... and still lost. I'll keep practising and will come out the bodge dalliest of them all!

Agreed, over time adding in multiplayer would be such a win.

Hi guys! Well done on getting your game in!

I, also, am not sure what to do... I've walked around and tried to click stuff and... could you add some controls into the description so was can get into your hard work a bit more?

Flip! Super humbled by that, thank you!

I'm a teacher and most of the writing that I've done recently has been worksheets and project sheets for kids. Oh, and an education blog.

I was/am still anxious about people reading my writing. This game jam has given me more confidence.

Again, thank you so much.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that. I've found it to be pretty scary to write and actually put it out there for people (besides my wife) to see.

I agree with you about length. Initially I wanted to vary it to kind of break the flow, but the pages with the long text are intimidating. I'll keep that in mind for the next interactive adventure.

Ha ha! I still struggle to 'follow' ;) When I first put that in it was about twice as fast and I was using a trackpad and got so frustrated! When it was slower it was super easy. I don't think I found the exact right speed, but it's at least do-able!

Thank you for taking the time to play and let me know about it.

Oh, and also make sure you keep playing once the Grootslang is dead. That's only the first part :)

Thanks so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it. I definitely want to look into forking endings and greater consequences for choices.

There were only a few places that I wanted to restrict choices in favour of experiencing the full story.

I'm not sure I understand your take on the Grootslang returning, but am so happy about different interpretations. I tried to stick lots of symbols about.

Thanks again and I'll definitely be taking this on board if I manage to do a 1.1 :)

Sweeeeet! Dig it!

Hey Lloyd,

Have you tried through the website? I think it's just the app that it doesn't work. Weird.

Oooh! Speed run time!

Yo! Yup, only got this working through the app. Digging all the new art going in! Don't know if it's just this version, but when I got shot/die at the first enemies then it takes you back to the menu room...

Ok cool! I'll get on it... got a cool idea from what you're saying...

Also couldn't get it to work on my Mac... will keep playing the updates on PC. I'm keen to do some sound stuff for it. What sort of vibe, musically, do you think you're going for?

Digging some of the animations and platform look. Starting to really get somewhere!

Agreed! Enjoyed it a lot! Really think this could be expanded on a mobile platform! Good work!
