Adding to this you can get the save manually if you go into the cabin by the lake folder, then go to the "game" folder, then go to the "saves" folder. From there you can either move the save folder into the same spot in the  new version or just your most recent saves.

It's worth noting that there won't be a "saves" folder in the new version until you've saved in that version or until you make/move the folder there yourself.

The screen shake is a little intense, couldn't actually see the ball sometimes

Look at the letters you have and think about the theme of the game, should become obvious if you shuffle them around a little

(there are 5 letters in total)

Well now that's just rude

That is just how monumental these asses are apparently

The patch notes keep getting even more weird/vague and I'm all here for it

False-positives for trojans on Ren'Py games are really common. I can name on one hand Ren'Py games that haven't triggered it (that I have played)

I love how even the bug reports for this game have started getting really unhinged.

Advanced Battle Chess

Take your time, this has promise and we are more than willing to give you all the time you need to make this as good as you can.

The "Preg odds" toggle seems to be bugged, or maybe I'm mis-understanding it. Seem like when I have it "ticked" it just sets the chance to 0 (or I have REALLY bad luck), but when I turn it to what looks to be "off" I have a 100% success rate???

Honestly? No idea, I've never found the key if it exists

Bug: The game really doesn't like it when you check the work pants before needing the key.

If this turns out even half as good as Mist then it'll be more than worth the wait.

This always happens, I find the game catches up to itself after you pay rent, so worst case just play a week and it should be fin.

My single complaint about this game is the pumpkins, because of how days work they secretly take 8 "turns" to harvest because they always mature at night and you can't do much other than diddle your harem at that time of day.

What I'm getting at is, please make it 8 or 6, or give us the ability to harvest at night. it's just a bit frustrating to realise there is no point growing pumpkins except to save 1 energy per week (compared to cabbages), which it would do anyway if it was 8 instead of 7.

I discovered (thankfully early on) that it doesn't actually matter how the combat ends, the autosave will still happen. Beaten to death by a boar? Autosave. poisoned by angry rats? Autosave. A very angry badger got up close and personal with your HP bar? Autosave...

What I'm getting at is that it really should only autosave after successful combats

I found a bug, when you go to the lake and select "Take a Selfie" it plays the ending scene then just continues from wherever you left off

One day comrade... one day

You're better off subbing to the patreon and getting it that way. Since itch makes you pay seperately for updates.

Check her quest, you have to "help" one of the other characters first iirc

Not currently, but it is a possibility for the future if enough of us want it.

I'm pretty sure you get them from the demon/statue thing, either that or the caterpillar shop, maybe even the cat-girl. Honestly I thought I remembered when I started typing this

Not all the mushroom people are in the game yet, and one of them is still broken/unfinished I believe

Seems interesting, I look forward to seeing how it develops.

It does feel like we've finally got enough story to justify the preg content outside of dreams. I'm thinking eventually preg will be a corruption level for people, maybe the final one, who knows? But I'm looking forward to it

Small bug with the Sami bag search. For reasons unknown to me it is impossible for me to not have anything in the bag, no matter what I do she will always find some even if it should be impossible. In the event that I haven't gotten any from anyone else, she will just magically find some from Mysterious.

Genuinely wasn't expecting this to get any sort of update, so glad it did though. Will save hours of grinding.

Thanks for letting me know

If you look through the guide some choices have branching "paths" with different corruption levels listed, a lot of scenes/events are hidden in those sorts of places.

A hint for Lina, be sure to settle her debt at the end of the mighty quest (quite a few things are in there).

As for Haily/Sami/Carla on the other hand you just need to jump into their events and complete them in different ways.

(1 edit)

It has something to do with Hypnosis

Small bug, when I finished the "check the area" thing in Northside it sent me to Hillside afterwards. Not sure if it does something similar for the others.

I was not mentally ready for McLean, but damn was that entertaining.

Happy to help

This is a bug with Itch, I have no idea what causes it but don't worry, you have the correct version. It will probably fix itself when the next update comes out and it can re-write the version file.

If you can't be bothered to launch it from it's location in your files until then you can either:
   A. Try "updating" the game, doesn't always work but it does sometimes
   B. Uninstall and re-install the game (MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR SAVES IF YOU DO THIS. They can be found at ...\cabin-by-the-lake\CabinByTheLake-0.20d-pc\game\saves  By copying that "saves" folder somewhere you can safely uninstall and re-install the game without losing progress)

Genuinely made me laugh, the writing for what story there is, is on point.
The Gameplay is fun too, wasn't expecting to have different main weapons for each fairy but I guess it does make sense in hindsight since it keeps it feeling fresh between each run.

My one singular issue is probably with the "Soul Fairy", some sort of indicator for what mode you are in would be nice, I found myself dying more than once because I'd accidentally swapped modes and not realised. Still very fun though and I'll probably play it a bit more even though I have played the game to it's completion.

Was fun, I look forward to seeing how it develops in the future.

Seems like a fun game, unfortunately it stopped working after the first house scene.

If this ever gets a patch to fix that bug I'd happily play the whole game, since it looks like fun.
