Thanks.
Yeah, maybe I made the third room puzzle a bit too difficult. But, if you want to keep going, I can give you a hint: the titles of the books (the ones that have one or two words) will give you an indication to where you have to position and press Z. I'm sorry you found some of the stuff a bit gratuitous, it's just that body horror and SA are the two things that scare me the most, that's also why I put an "adult" tag.
But I'm glad you liked it overall. Thank you.
Here's my review: I picked my fancy critic pillow and I positioned it on my critic chair. I gave it two swipes to make it clean and dandy. I put my critic top hat on my head while I was standing in front of a mirror so I could perfectly match the circumference of the hat with my head. I also put my critic monocle on and my fake British critic mustaches as procedure. I boiled the water and poured the tea in my critic cup. I put the cup of tea on my critic desk, I sat down, took the first sip and booted up the game.
10 seconds later I almost choked and fell of the chair.
9/10. Would definitely repeat the experience again.
I tried your game, and I have to say, the presentation and the atmosphere are quite fantastic! Graphics, lighting and sound design are on point. I like that the hand of the main character shakes a bit in terror, making the player realize pretty immediately that they are not a badass space marine but a normal guy put in a situation bigger than them.
Just a question: Is there a way to jump? Because when I was reaching the second big red arena I couldn't progress due to a misalignment on the floor.
By the way, knowing how to make a game in Unreal Engine is indeed remarkable.
Yeah, I know. No art is a bummer. I tried to contact an artist, but to no avail and this is the best I could do in the nine days I had for the jam I was submitting to. As for the linearity, yeah... that's another issue I had with the lack of time. Lots of ambitions, lots of ideas, but not enough time nor experience to put them in action and so I had to cut a lot.
Most of my time was spent to recolor the characters' sprites in order to give even a semblance of nudity, because, guess what, the most nudity you get from RPG Maker is the character in their underwear (for obvious reasons I hope I don't need to explain). And if you want naked sprites, you have to make your own.
And that's what I did, hoping (foolishly), that the effort would have been appreciated.
But I guess that wasn't enough... I mean 0 stars? (sorry, 1 star, zero isn't an option thankfully) That's a bit too harsh, don't you think? That's the type of vote I would give to someone who made a broken mess of a game that doesn't even start or that is stupidly offensive (like a game that openly promotes bigotry).
But I'm not you and you are entitled to your opinion, so thanks for sharing. Next time I'll focus on the gameplay aspect first and the story second. As for the art... I know. I have to find an artist.
Not really, I'm using RPG Maker to make my games and I'm basically using the default assets of the program for the characters.
I'm actually an aspiring writer and game designer.
And the game in question also includes spicy scenes with a dragon, an orc, an ogre, minotaurs, demons and so on...
Is it ok for you?

It's free and it can open pretty much everything, including RAR files
