Hi WaveBots,

I just purchased this the tool the other  day and immediately ran into a big issue that I feel needs a fix asap.

To start off, I chose the action template and created a random  track  just to test the app out. I then rendered/exported the midi file or my HDD which saved to \users\documents\wavebots

I then saved the project and quit the program as I wanted to try out the midi in my DAW.  When I saved the project it created a .WBTE file in the folder above along with a folder for the project that had the exported midi. After messing around with the DAW I decided to open up WaveBots again.

I associated the .wbte project file it created  with  wavebots editor and double clicked on it to open up the Editor.  The editor begun to open, and then it started to open another instance on its own, and another and another and another in an endless loop of Wavebot editors. Within a minute there were 50+ wavebots editor windows opening. I couldn't close them fast enough before another would open. They just kept on opening and starting up.

I went into task manager trying to kill the process and all the open instances and even when I did it kept opening up more and more WaveBots editor instances in a loop. There was no way to kill it. There was nothing I could do except shut down the computer and reboot.

This program is basically a virus at this point as it just opens up infinite instances of itself.  If you click on the project file in windows explorer and try to open the program that way it will just open infinite instances of WaveBots until you run out of Ram about 1 ever 2-3 seconds and there is no way to stop this outside of shutting down. I lost what I was working in other programs and Chrome windows/tabs as I could not save any of my files as 100+ Wavebot windows ate up my resources and cluttered up my screen. Every time I tried to switch to whatever I had open in order to save my work or session 2 or 3 more wavebots windows/instances would open up on top of all the other ones that had already opened.

Also in regards to the editor in general,  midi rendering works but trying to export to .Wav regardless of the setting chosen does not work, I tried rendering/outputting to wav in every setting from 44.1 16 bit to 48k and 24 bit changing all settings including float vs integer or whatever and nothing works. You can't export to Wav. It will make a folder for the file you want but the directory will be empty. Please let le know if I am doing something wrong or if this is indeed a bug/problem. If you can't export to Wav then this is a problem.  Exporting stems doesn't work either.

I understand this is an alpha and there will probably be bugs but this is way beyond that. I didn't expect this thing to act like some self replicating virus.

I am running Windows 10 latest build on an I7 3770k Ivy Bridge CPU/PC with 32GB of RAM, Nvidia GForce 9600 using a Audio8DJ Audio interface from Native Instruments (also tried the internal sound output on my MB/Directsound). My DAW is Reaper.

This is a really cool program and I hope you continue to improve it and I would love to be able to use it as it's designed. I would just really like to be able to use it without it crashing my PC and also be able to export Wav files as I am trying to make a 2d Pixel art space shooter game in Unity.

Thank you for your work and I hope you can fix this. This is a really unique program.

Let me know if there is any other info I can provide.

I also mentioned this in my feature request post.

The midi export  seems to be fundamentally broken. If I make a pattern or several patterns of 4 instruments each and some drums and export that midi out into a DAW (in this case Reaper) only the top midi instrument / pattern (instrument 1) will work. So to explain, I open my DAW, I preload 7 instruments (4 synths) 4 drum instruments to cover the 4 instruments from 1bitdragon and the drums. I export the midi out of 1bitdragon and drag the midi file into Reaper DAW. Each of the individual midi files goes onto one of the 7 tracks in my daw. When I hit play only the top, the first synth/instrument plays. The 2nd through 7th midi tracks won't play. If I drag any of the other 6 midi parts into the top track they won't play. If I drag the first/top midi into the 2nd through 6th instrument tracks they will work. If I take a different multi part/multi track midi that I bought and drag it in all tracks work fine.

Somehow when 1bitdragon exports midi only the top / first instrument works. The 3 other instruments and drums midi don't work at all. I've tested this several times. It's not my DAW its not my configuration because again I can insert other midi that isn't from 1bitdragon and it works fine on the same instruments/ synth Vsts.

Something is seriously messed up with your midi export in 1bitdragon.

I made a techno polka sounding track in 1bit dragon yesterday after buying the program and really enjoyed the process but I want to export the midi to my daw piece by piece and currently you can't export separate patterns (unless I missed something), but even when I export all the midi as stated above it doesn't work. I have to re-do the entire song by hand in my piano roll in the DAW. I would prefer to be able to just drag the midi onto whatever track I need. Being able to export individual midi tracks in each pattern separately would be a great help as you can change instruments from pattern to pattern so it's really necessary to be be able to just export 1 instrument on 1 pattern individually as they can change from pattern to pattern making extracting the entire song midi useless as I then have to chop it all up in the DAW. I love the simple interface of 1bitdragon and I with it was a VST or able to drag and drop any section in any pattern.

Anyway thanks for making a great program. I hope you improve upon it with time.

Thank you for the great tool. :)

Can you add a way to move the pattern boxes that are located up top, if lets say I want to easily shuffle them around, instead of having to cut/paste or copy/paste? (Like move #4 to #7 spot for example). It would be nice if I could pick any one box up and move it left or right into whatever other spot which would move the page accordingly.

Also would be cool to have some additional things besides basslines and fills. (melodies, rhythms, common chord progressions etc). Maybe some stuff like Scaler 2 does.

Also would love to be able to export as 48k Wav or do some basic mixing or if this was simple a VST that I could load up into a DAW itself.

Is there  a way to set the grid to anything other then 4/4 time signature? 5/4 or 7/8?

Also is it possible to export midi as individual tracks or just export each pattern of 4 instruments individually? This is necessary as you only have 4 instruments to work with and you can change instruments in each pattern. Normally in a DAW you would have 1 instrument per track so when you add another instrument you add another track below that. In 1 bitdragon I can have a guitar1 on instrument 1 but in patern 2 I can change that to a synth on the same instrument. If I were to export this midi track 1/instrument 1 would technically be multiple instruments. So it would be helpful to be able to export each instrument individually and each pattern individually or just each pattern individually that is made up of all the instruments. This way I could assign them to different tracks with different instruments in my DAW. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't think this is possible currently.

Also there seems to be a big bug. The midi export  seems to be fundamentally broken.
