Is there a way to buy this off of Itch? Itch incorrectly charges UK buyers 20% tax :(

Yep, not a lawyer either so I've no idea how you square that circle. If it was physical goods it would "simply" be a case of not shipping to those territories.

In any case it's a secondary issue compared to actually charging and collecting the correct tax.

You are not allowed to advertise consumer goods for sale to buyers in the UK or the EU without VAT included at the correct rate. The correct rate of VAT for books in the UK is zero.

BTW it doesn't matter where the site is, if you ship to the UK or EU you must display your prices inclusive of VAT at the correct rate at the point where the goods are displayed.

Interesting, and obviously an issue. From a tabletop game player perspective it looks like I am purchasing a product and not project access so perhaps that needs to be made clearer.

I get the problem, I'm on several Patreon and it seems obvious there why I pay VAT on my subscriptions.

I wonder how many others have been introduced to Itch by crowdfunding projects delivering rewards, and, like me, don't fully understand how this platform is designed to work?

Books, including eBooks, including RPG books are zero rate for VAT in the UK. Why does Itch apply an incorrect rate of 20% ?
