Thank you for the helpful criticism! Hopefully we can get around to fixing these issues at some point to make the game more enjoyable. We made Wickborne in 4 days, and of course with all game jams there are issues and things we didn't have time to add/improve. Glad you liked the game and hopefully we can incorporate your feedback!

I actually enjoyed the very simple static shader art effects. I think this could actually be a really neat visual style for a horror puzzle game if expanded on. I will say that yes, the static screen that shows when switching to an area did make my eyes bleed hah. Cool concept! :)
EDIT: Also, I think if you changed your title to even just a picture of the game, that might catch people's attention more. Good luck!
Awesome job! Really fun concept and great visuals! It was pretty difficult for me though. I think maybe having some sort of outline or an idea of where the other world is would be nice. With this you could maybe make the game even hard as far as a platformer and less of a memory game, which can get frustrating. Overall, very well done and a great game! :)
Good job for a first jam! I thought the fact that are were actually IN your mind with the squishy sound effects and walls was pretty funny. Some feedback similar to what others have said is adding something in order to make the gameplay a bit more exciting. It wouldn't even need to be a horror game, it could be puzzle based potentially. Overall, great work and good luck in your next one! :) Also I made it to the end B)
Great job. The whole game was very cute! It was nice and simple, the puzzle gradually got a little harder which was nice and was just a fun little game. If I had to give some feedback, the controls felt a bit unresponsive at times. Perhaps that's not quite the right word, but I would find myself pushing something too far accidentally a fair amount of times, when it had really felt like I pushed it X far... if that makes any sense. Awesome work though! Meow :)
This was awesome. I really liked the take on this one, since a lot of people used the candle in a horror setting, it was refreshing to play a more peaceful game like this. The music was very enjoyable and the mechanic for having to switch to the different candles for the platforming was really fun. It was difficult to tell where I would land sometimes since its a 2D player in a 3D world, but overall you did a great job! :)
The sound design really helped the game feel more alive. The art style was also very fitting and well done, that paired nicely with the gameplay. There were times where I felt like there may have been too many monsters or felt as though my gun was a bit useless, but maybe that's also the feeling you'd like to achieve when it comes to horror. It would also be nice to not have to go through the beginning sequence of collecting everything every time you die. Overall, very cute and fun little game, great job! :)
