Peace! I'm fairly new to game sound, but finished my first game jam a few months ago. I did all the design and music for this: https://cosmitar.github.io/lostcartridgejam3Game/

You can also check out my other stuff here: https://johntournas.com/

Would love to collaborate :)

Thanks for taking the time to listen. I'm glad it sparked your imagination :)

Thanks, I appreciate the comparison! Playing sax started me on my music journey, so I try to work it in whenever I can.

Thank you! I'm really glad you can hear the wintery-ness :) I really liked your composition as well.

This is so legit from a classical composition standpoint. It's clear you've mastered many parts of composing for orchestra. One piece of feedback I'd give, which is something that I also struggle with, would be to work on your MIDI automation on your strings. There are parts throughout your piece where I want to hear the instruments swell and breathe more than they do. That could be achieved through controlling the expression or dynamics of whatever sample libraries you're using.  Thank you for sharing!

Impressive orchestration, you really made use of the different timbres of your instrument to tie in with the seasonal theme.

There's a wandering quality to your compositions that makes them interesting to listen to all the way through :) Great work!

Notus is a banger! I can imagine the rolling clouds and heat lightning of a summer storm.

This really felt cinematic, I feel like I could imagine a Mass Effect cutscene in there.

Appreciate you taking the time to listen!

A cohesive project! I was surprised when that metal track came in halfway through, but definitely not in a bad way. You really nail that classic RPG nostalgia.

Hey! Appreciate your thoughts on this! For the main saxophone loop, I felt like I wanted to keep it relatively dry in the mix, as it serves as the main forward motion and rhythm of the piece for me.

This is gorgeous! I see a lot of similarities between the pieces we submitted, actually. What you've composed sounds comforting and melancholy at the same time, which I think is an excellent combo for the type of video game you've described in the description.

Flight Simulator/Survival!

I think you do a great job of crafting these emotional passages that also leave room for the listener to give meaning to them. It makes me curious about what could have happened in the game to make the music sound like this.

I have a question! I've composed the piece that I intend to submit, and want to have a friend of mine mix/master it. Would my friend need to officially join the jam as part of my team in order for the piece to be considered, or would it be all right to just credit them in the notes?
