Judge feedback: A nice idea and novel proposal. It does not so much speak to the prompt (pausing AGI progress) but infrastructure along the lines of that described may be very helpful for improving responsible and safe AI development more generally.

Judge Comment: I very much enjoyed this proposal. Advances in AI have the potential to impact democracy in many ways, both positive and negative. While there has been much work investigating the implication of AI for democracy, I agree with the author that there is a need for a coherent framework to illustrate how those impacts overlap and possibly conflict.
