First and foremost welcome to the itch.io community!

The drawings are awesome and I can already pull some emotions from them. They are really well done so don't be nervous! This is a beautiful place for collaboration an ideas to flourish. I'm looking forward to writing this piece.

You're very welcome my friend I hope you enjoyed listening to the track. I found myself energized while writing it.

I REALLY like this artwork! It inspired me to write lyrics as well as I heard music in my head for this. Honestly it surprised me that it veered me off from more something like a soundtrack to more of a conventional song. I have the instrumentation and lyrics finished structure wise. It may take some time to polish it to my liking but I want to  do the original thought justice.

Seriously thank you for this submission! I can't wait to share it with you!

At the end I'll put together a playlist of all the tracks I created for you guys. Four more submissions available. I'm excited to see what else people submit!

Here is your track my friend

The Path Before Me (Snakey)

I got adventure vibes from your screenshot. Something fast pace with wonder but still realistic struggle behind it all. I hope you enjoy it and thank you for your submission. I enjoyed  creating this track a lot.

TL:DR: Reply with your Art (Visual, Writing and even Audio) below and receive a music track inspired by it.

My name is Enixx, and I've had the pleasure or working on some games and jams on this website. Recently I thought it would be a lot of fun to try a creative and collaborative exercise. Instead of having to get together a large group of people to read, listen or look at your art why not just collaborate naturally with another creative? I'm looking to be inspired by any piece of art that you have created. Pulling emotion out of words, visuals or audio. Whether you're a master of your craft or just starting out, all submissions are welcome. Maybe you've been sitting on an idea for a while and can't find the right group. Or maybe you feel your work isn't up to where you'd like it to be. Why not sit back and let someone admire your work & create something for you in return? Use this place as a judgement free zone for something fun.

You can check out some of my sample pieces here!

I will create tracks for the first five people that reply to this post with their piece of art. If I enjoy this exercise greatly I may up that number.

I look forward to see what comes from this & I hope you do too. But until later

Across itch.io I've seen many people post & try different methods to find a team or group to work with. Whether it be with a game jam or a full fledge project. My goal with this post is to have us all collectively give our own advice & experiences to newbies and even peers to strengthen the community & our own knowledge.

To make everything a little easier to digest I figure we all first put what type of roles we play in our creative community, what worked and general advice for those in similar roles. As an Example here is mine

[Music Composer & Sound Designer]

What worked for me:

Posting on the "Help Wanted or Offered" board & being kind to those I was able to interact at with went a long way. The majority of my projects stemmed from posting on the "Help Wanted or Offered" board. Displaying some of your works that vary in style and that someone can listen to or even just skim through let's other Dev's get an idea of your style.  No matter how small the project any work will unlock doors through networking. Create a good relationship with people and they will want to continue to work with you or even recommend you to friends.

Advice:

For my fellow Music Composers finding work in our role can be difficult. We've all seen the many posts of talented and new composers in the "Help Wanted or Offered" community board that on the surface may appear to be ignored. It can be disheartening at first but hear me out. Music has become a commodity in the Dev world because of free music packs that are of quality. The best tool at our disposal is our own styles & creating a unique emotional soundscapes that even the best crafted Music Pack can't offer. Adjusting and growing with the projects and needs of the groups we find ourselves in is our greatest strengths. Another good piece of advice I've learned recently is also creating tracks for in-development projects. A sample if you will of what you hear when you see a game or read a concept. I promise you that the dev won't forget you going through the effort of reaching out to them and offering something for free to say you're interested. This can apply to other roles in our creative community as well.  Above all else BE KIND TO EVERYONE! We all are just wanting to contribute to something more and display our creations to the world. No one wants to work with a self centered jerk or someone who takes what they want out of a project then runs. Treat everyone like a friend and I promise you will be surprised what great things can come your way.

In Conclusion

Please feel free to share your Advice to your fellow Itch.io dev's & I look forward to reading about the behind the scenes of our community that some fresh faces may not have been aware of. Best of luck to you all & keep on creating!

Hello Everyone!

My name is A.J. (aka Enixx) & I've been playing music/creating music for the last 12 years. My love of video games and their legendary soundtracks have led me down the path of contributing music to some indie studios and projects. I enjoy thoroughly the creative process, bouncing ideas back and forth with a group & bringing visions for a game to life and setting emotion for the scenes with audio! Recently I've suffered a strain in my wrist preventing me from playing guitar for at least a month which is my primary instrument. So I'm back to producing music projects and figured it was time to find a team or project to pour all my creative energy into! So if you would like your own custom soundtrack or audio for your project I'm just a Discord message away!

I am also interested in creating dialogue, ambient noise, foley & sound effects!

I'm not jumping into this looking for anyone to pay me. Money is nice but I would be more than happy to contribute to a passion project or get a rev share if money does come into play down the road.

In future I plan on releasing a free music pack with loopable tracks and stems (individual instrument tracks you can play with). You can check out the bones of the pack called here which will be called "Conquer the Darkness".  For a more wide range of my compositions you can check out my Sample pieces here! If you want to check out some of the projects I've contributed to you can see them on my creator page here!

If you've enjoyed any of my work and are interested in me helping you with your game leave me a reply or message me on Discord at Enixx#0959

I hope you have a great day and wish you all the best of luck with your projects!

You've done well so far and don't feel like you need to rush it! Take your time and just make tweaks that you believe would make sense! You're off to a great start!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE THIS A FULL GAME!

Starting off I've played a stupid amount of Time Crisis so the homage warms my heart a bit. The specific enemies and the attack patterns of the boss made me feel like I was playing a fun modern take on Time Crisis.

The dialogue is my favorite part! The pure chaos and funny lines had me smiling and laughing while dodging bullets. Often catching me off guard at the absurdness. When I first heard the dialogue I thought "Maybe they are just placeholders" and the more I played the more I enjoyed every bit of audio.

You left me wanting more levels and bosses to fight. So really you guys did an amazing job! You delivered way more fun than I was expecting!

Constructive Feedback wise here are a few things

- Maybe add in a slide feature to help dodge bullets

- The shipping container section of the second level was the most difficult part to be honest. It could have been the limited amount of ammo mixed with a longer distance and larger spray area. After a few tries I was able to make it through!

-I often found myself stuck reloading infront of the enemy with my metaphorical pants down. Maybe up the ammo by 2-4 shots. Could help reduce the pants down effect.

- Spatial audio in the sense of Audio being lower when an enemy is further away I think would help with the dialogue that talks over each other making it incoherent at times.

- I know this a early build but adding a bit more stylized hud would go a long way. I imagine model/environment and hud details would be added if you worked on this project further.

In conclusion PLEASE MAKE THIS A FULL GAME! I would gladly pay for a fleshed out title based off of what you've done so far. KEEP THE COMEDY!I really believe many people would enjoy this! You've earned a follow and I'm hoping for an update in the future!

First and foremost the title made me laugh & after that I had to give your prototype a try.

I really like the underwater feel & the use of topography lines in the map. It definetly made me want to explore more of the environment.

The speed to which you move feels swift but not overwhelmingly so. I also like how the fins move back and forth. Damage system wise I believe it makes sense.

The AI is very competent and feels like a challenge to face.

Even though this is a prototype I think you have a good foundation to build on.

Improvement wise here as some ideas that came to mind

- The enemies should have a larger turn radius than the player, this could always be adjusted depending the on the difficulty of the enemy. As it stands they are a bit too good at targeting making the fight feel frustrating when you constantly zoom past your foe.

- The map size is HUGE! So finding the enemies was a bit difficult after spawning in. I can see two things improving this. Unlocking parts of the map as you complete waves or having bubbles blowing in the direction of the enemies to cut out the confusion.

- Please just add some ambient sound or little bubbles even. Maybe Audio ques could be used so the player know other fish are nearby

I really see some potential for fun with this. Maybe even having the game be about a new fish being bullied (in a comedic over the top way) by the local fish! That would be memorable! Like he has to complete waves to earn the respect of the other fish to not be harassed. Would suit the title if you intend to keep it! A funny, challenging but enjoyable game.

I hope you continue to move forward with this project and turn it into something awesome. You really do have the framework for something cool!

First of all I just wanted to say the art style really caught my eye while browsing through games so kudos to Michael!

The concept is something I like the idea of (the shadow is really cool looking as well). Playing as a goblin instead of fighting them was also a nice change of pace.

The audio whether it be the sound effects of the music fit really well! It felt like it was creating an atmosphere versus just being thrown in.

I would have liked to play through it further however I ran into 3 issues on the second room. Hopefully listing these will help.

1. When entering the second room if standing still the screen will go black.

2. In the second room the shadow does not move at all.

3. When dying in the second room the screen goes black instead of bringing me back to the start.

(I had this issue on Chrome, even in incognito & on Edge. If you have more questions about this  please feel to message me on Discord Enixx#0959 )

Besides the issues listed above I'd say in regards to feedback I would suggest making the Window a bit larger. Just seems kind of cramped even in full screen. I think having a smooth movement system versus the teleporting one would also make it feel a little better.

Please let me know once as the issues on the second room are squared away. I'd love to see how far I could get!

A classic concept on a game that I fondly remember playing when I was younger.

Everything ran well and I didn't run into any errors. I honestly forgot how relaxing this style of game could be. The difficulty and balance for timing felt smooth.

My only feedback would be adjusting some of the audio levels & putting the main menu music into the actual gameplay. Some of the background audio like the wind/waves could get a bit loud and drown out the flapping sound effect. Even feeling oppressive at times. I genuinely liked the main menu track & believe it would sound great during gameplay if implemented at a third of the volume it is in the main menu.

Overall I enjoyed playing "Quacky Flap" (love the title haha) & could see myself coming back to get a browser version of this style game. Great work and keep on developing!

If you ended up needing another composer I'd enjoy contributing some music & sound design for your project.  Collaborating  with the other artists/composers you've already added on could be fun. It's been a while since I've stretched my video game music skills and I'd love to help.

Regardless if you end up wanting the additional help I hope you're finding yourself a good team and would like  to see your project come to life.

Good Luck Slightly Radioactive & don't forget to enjoy the process!

Are you still in need of some music? I've played guitar for over 10 years and have plenty of equipment to get what you're looking for!

Wow a lot of nostalgia in this one. I enjoyed playing this a lot my only gripe is the amount of bullets is pretty small for a handgun. The crazy enemies and the mechanics of time crisis (as well as them damn purple wolverine guys) have really made this a jem!

Wow this game was a blast and hilarious! It got me pumped & made me enjoy it's wild ride! I'm very pleased to hear that the Devs will be adding more content. This 7DFPS game is a gem and is worthy of becoming a longer title! If you haven't downloaded this yet you're robbing yourself of a good time. Good job guys!

Shot you an email!

If you're still looking for someone to help with Music and Sound FX I'd love to see what you're working on.

Hello Everyone! I've been playing music/creating music for the last 10 years. My love of video games and their legendary soundtracks have made me really want to jump in to game audio. I'm really interested in helping and even learning more about sound design, dialogue & composition for games. I'm genuinely interested in working with a team to help create something and help fill in the gaps audio wise whether that be creating an emotion to set a tone or atmosphere. To getting audio bits that suit your needs even if it's something like ambient noise. I'd be more than willing to help play test or chime in any other creative ideas as well if needed.

Just to give you an idea of my Equipment I have Guitars, Amps,a Bass, Acoustic Guitars, Audio Interfaces, Condenser Mics, Dynamic Mics, Hundreds of Dollars in VST software (Music Hobbies are expensive lol) and a passion to help contribute. So what ever the type of music, Foley or sound effects that you need I can work with you to create something you'd like.

I'm not jumping into this looking for anyone to pay me for my work. Right now i'd like to build a portfolio, experience and network with those in the indie game industry. If you enjoy my work and wish to pay me for my time or contribution you can do so at a later date but i have no expectations except crediting me for my contributions.

I've made you a playlist of 10 Pieces I've composed. Which you can check out Here

Also Here is my Youtube Channel  that's based around gaming for you to consider how passionate I am for them: https://www.youtube.com/thoseawkwardgamers

Just played through the Demo! I really enjoyed it and found the gunplay to be entertaining. The Collision for some of the objects needs to be adjusted not only for the AI but the player as well. On the Third Level the background would disappear at times may be worth looking into. The music in the Second level felt a bit off since it sounded almost medieval. I got a lot of nostalgia playing this demo and it reminded me of playing House of the Living Dead. It's a really good foundation so far and look forward to any updates in the future. I ended up enjoying it a lot and beat it with 0 deaths haha

If you want any custom music or someone just to record dialogue i'd love to help out. I'll link you my discord if you're interested.

I'll be waiting for your next update YT_GamingZoom!
