That is odd. The PC VR version requires you run the steam vr app and the oculus app before you run it. Ill check it out ASAP. Im on day 3 of a power outage after beryl hit us so when im back online ill try running the PC VR version using oculus + steam vr to see if i get similar results.

Thanks for your interest and support!

Hello, are you running steam VR? It is required on top of the oculus desktop app

Yep. I will be bringing this character update to the other versions following this PC update.

Thank you for your support!

Sure can. Give me a few hours and I can make it happen.

Did you sideload the apk to your quest? I havent personally tried that myself but id imagine its gonna be a bit nauseating given all the camera movements invlolved.

Hello,

Try closing the app completely from the task switcher and re launch it

Try closing it in the task switcher and running it again. Let me know if the issue persists

Hello,

What device are you running the apk on?

Hi. Thank you for your interest in my game!

I'll work on a trailer for the store page tomorrow. I definitely could use a trailer for each product page that represents the gameplay.

Thanks for your suggestion!

Hello, thanks for your interest in my game.

The controls for movement on the Quest 2 version are -

Right Thumbstick Click - Spawn teleport cursor (Green=good spot, Red=can't move here)

The interaction controls are -

Right index finger trigger - cursor select (when on a valid UI object)

Right index finger trigger + Right grip/Left index finger trigger + Left grip - grab

I will update the game now to include tooltips with the controls at the beginning.

Hello, thanks for your interest in my game

The android APK is meant for Android phones and tablets so it is not optimized  to run on mobile VR devices like Quest 2.

I am currently working on a standalone version of Desire Den for Quest 2 with touch controls and hand tracking support so stay tuned

Hi, I will do a test today on a few devices to make sure I can get wider compatibility.

How are you connecting your Quest 2 to your PC? If you are using something like virtual desktop you may need to switch to Oculus Airlink or a link cable. I will download virtual desktop now either way since if I remember right the app makes changes to your input settings.

Hi thanks for your interest in my game.

The version of Desire Den on Steam is the standalone PC version. There is no VR support included in the standalone PC version. The HMD will render the view but thats about it.

The version on this page is the standalone VR version built just for VR+roomscale controls.

Picked up a Meta Quest 2 and got the controls working. I can't seem to replicate the double left hand issue though. Can you try the replacement game files I just pushed and see if they work for you?

Are you using the right hand grip to summon the cursor and using the right hand trigger while holding grip to select dialogue/menu options?

I built the VR version using a Rift S on the same "project" the Quest 2 standalone version was on and I didn't have to change anything in the input settings to get it to work from Quest 2 -> Rift S when I lost my headset and stopped working on that standalone port and started working on a general VR port.

If you can't get it to work by holding the grip to summon the cursor then I will go pick one up right now to fix this.

Please feel free to request a refund.

I can understand how frustrating it is when something you paid for doesn't just work.

Thanks again for your interest in my game and thanks for helping me improve it. Your feedback is super important.

Which VR headset are you playing on?

Thank you for the feedback.

I will work on this tomorrow morning and update this post when I push a hot fix for this issue as I currently do not own a valve index.

The Rift S controls are as follows

Right Hand:

Grip - Hold to enable cursor. Also used to grab objects at the bar and toys.

Trigger - Used to select menu items while the cursor is enabled

Left Hand:

Joystick - Move

If the controls don't work still I may need to rework the input system and upgrade to an index for testing

Correct. Currently the VR version is a separate game.

This should be fixed now

Hello. Thank you for your interest in my game

I developed the VR version using an older Rift S so I may have overlooked steam input. I will address this issue today and add support for newer headsets.

Hello. Thank you for your interest in my game

What issues are you having with the VR version?

Hi, thanks for your interest in my game.

I uploaded an incomplete .zip archive so it was actually missing files.

I just uploaded a new .zip archive

As for the second file that is no longer needed as my itch upload size limit has been increased.

Hello, thanks for your interest in my game

I just addressed this issue in the 1.32 Hotfix

The interact trigger will now work with a single press instead of the previous buggy "hold" way.

Hello. Thank you for your interest in my game.

You can find older builds in the Desire Den Discord server

The VR POV version is being worked on but not part of the game at the moment. Any included VR functionality is unintentional

I just got approved for a larger upload size on itch. Reuploaded it as a single zip file. Make sure you delete any existing zip versions and folders before you extract this one. Should just work now though.

I am currently waiting for itch to approve a larger upload limit for my project so I may upload it in 1 zip. I just uploaded a new zipped version using a different program to compress it. Let me know if it works for you!

Not yet. I am currently working on the VR version to be included with the PC version. Standalone VR development has priority.

Okay thanks for letting me know. I'll get to fixing this now.

Make sure you download both files.  If that does not work let me know and I'll create a version using a generic zipping program today.
I used 7zip to compress it into a 2 part .zip but maybe it doesn't work for everyone.

I appreciate your feedback.

Hello thanks for reporting this. What are you using to extract the files?

what are you using to extract it? Did you download both parts first?

Hi. Just emailed you about this.

Hello. For now there is no VR version included. The VR version of Desire Den will be standalone.

Thanks for pointing this out to me! PayPal is now accepted as a payment method.

Hi,

You need to download both "Desire Den 1.3.z01" and Desire Den.zip" files. Extract the .zip and then run the Desire Den executable to start the game.
