I like the style of the game, it's very striking. Ambient sound fx fit pretty nicely as well.  However the gameplay itself could be more intuitive.

I think there is some real missed opportunities not telling the player what button to press when referring to things like "shockwave" abilities.  A lot of players will not know to go to the settings menu to check the controls.

The animation of the blob also does not seem to indicate it will be able to do infinite double jumps.  It has a nice looking idle animation, but it looks like the blob is being pressed down by gravity.  If you look at characters like kirby who can do similar things they have a separate animation for when they are jumping where they puff up or do something that indicates they can rise even higher with another button press.

Moving the box around with the shockwave ability is also pretty difficult atm.

Impressive this is running on a browser.  Generally straightforward fps fun.  I found the music could get a little grating after a little while, and a lot of the rooms have a pretty open layout with not a lot of navigation/cover options.  If the enemies had slow moving projectiles it might be more fun to try strafing and dodging in the kind of environment.

Very solid I think.  Great tutorial in general as well. Most things are broken down for the player very smoothly and effectively.

There are also some unintuitive points that I fee don't have to be so unintuitive.

  • I did feel that the spikes look very similar to grass.
  • There were also some sections where you need to jump off of spikes on a wall as opposed to the floor, and I did not assume that was possible at first.
  • I also did not get that you could jump off of spinning blades as well as spikes at first.  This took me a bit to figure out when it was first introduced.  However, there is a section later on where there is a pool of lava that is clearly too long to jump across and a spinning blade over top of it.  I feel at that section it would be much clearer as to what the player needs to do.
  • And ofc, the fact that UI does not support controller input probably should be addressed.  As someone who just got through setting up controller input for UI, better to do that sooner than later lol.

It also seems like the font for reading dialogue is very generic and I get the feeling it's a little out of place.  I see in other areas there is a more unique font in the game.  If you are having trouble securing fonts google has a lot of open source fonts.

Sound and music is also very chill and relaxing.  I'm not sure that's what you are going for but if it is, I like it.

Really like the mechanic of being able to jump off spikes.  I think it could be a very effective way of building tension and manufacturing a lot of "close call" moments.
