Hi, Adam! Sorry, I had to come back on and Edit my original post just tonight. I'll UPDATE you on what I've recently put here.

So, the http Site (of make.bitsy.org) is NOT ok to visit, as it IS INFECTED with a VIRUS, and HACKERS Are using it, as PROVEN by the Google Chrome browser Warning, BUT ALSO: It AFFECTS the https version, which is why my NoScript keeps BOTH Sites UNTRUSTED as per my setting (BLOCKED).

My PROOF is that on Oct 18, I was in the Bitsy Editor via: https://make.bitsy.org -all night and into Oct 19 before I slept, and I had all kinds of VIRUSY Behavior from the https Site itself (couldn't type just normal stuff in the URL Bar while on it, and the latest thing: It later kept making a Pop-Up occur of: Google Translate - Hausa to English. After that, My Chromebook slowed to a crawl and then FROZE!)

So, in closing, I'd Advise that everyone use your very first Bitsy Editor site:

https://ledoux.itch.io/bitsy

...or they put themselves at RISK while using it. Thank you for acknowledging.

Everyone, please be advised! The website:

http://www.make.bitsy.org/

...is Infected by a VIRUS (Hackers are using it!), as Shown by Google Chrome's alert!

(I used my NoScript to set the infected site to: Untrusted, just to be safe)

That, in turn, AFFECTS:

https://make.bitsy.org/

...as my NoScript automatically recognized it as the SAME, INFECTED Site (just with no Warning)!

NOTE: The Main Bitsy Editor Website:

https://ledoux.itch.io/bitsy

...is still just fine, so just be careful what you search for on the internet!

Hey, skisbees. I enjoyed this nice little space game, despite its shortness. Thanks for making it. :)

Nice game, ghostsnwitches. Thought-provoking.

Just wanted to put this out there, as it's something I noticed awhile back and it still hasn't been fixed.

When you click the ROOMS tab and then the WALLS button, the first room shows walls normally, BUT when you try to check your other rooms, the solid white color and icon of the walls will either:

- Change into multiple copies of your avatar or a sprite!

OR:

- Vanish from a room altogether!

ADAM, if you see this message, could you Please FIX this? It may seem like a minor bug/issue, but it's actually quite important in determining whether your tiles are actually registering as walls or not, and makes it a huge pain when checking for walls!

Edit: I forgot to also mention that this same issue happens when you move from one to the next in EXITS & ENDINGS too!

Thank you so much in advance, Adam!

Hi, Valeriy. Deepest apologies. I'm not david-c14, it's just 1 of a few links I'd found while doing more research on Bitsy awhile back. Wish I could take the credit, but my knowledge is more limited when it comes to variables and such, and certainly not as good as yours, Akaki's, Andrew Yolland, etc, not even as knowledgable as Adam's, the man himself. I've learned a fair amount about Bitsy via searches when looking for workarounds and such, but still not spent as much time in Bitsy as I'd like, 'til I can devote more time to it. In the meantime, I really appreci8 all u guys and the others who've imparted their own Bitsy wisdom over the past few years, and I seek to learn even more. Once again, sorry if u thot I was him, IDK that could be how my post was read or interpreted. :)

Hi, Akaki. Just like to add a link here that you could've used to help with your project:

https://github.com/david-c14/BitsyTrix/wiki/RPG-Fight

I have other useful links concerning Bitsy, as well, but that should help give even more insight into making Bitsy RPGs. :D

Nice find, Chris, thanx!

You're more than welcome, Valeriy. And an advanced Bitsy tutorial sounds like a great idea! No specific questions atm, but I'll certainly keep it in mind for future. There are a fair number of ppl with really good knowledge, and I can't keep track of them all on itch.io, but because I've played all your Bitsy games so far, I became quite interested in what you've done with the engine in terms of variables usage and such, it reminds me a lot of things I've learned in OHRRPGCE over the past few years. Looking forward to more from u, as well as other knowledgeable creators who find such amazing ways to push Bitsy to its limits.

Hey, earthan. Sounds similar to what Valeriy suggested, tho I like your pov of looking at exits as best-used as dialog triggers. Nice input from u both. I was timid to reply, as earlier yesterday, it seemed like I got a temporary ban... I couldn't access anything on itch.io at all, this forum, itch.io games, nada. It went-away after an hour or maybe longer (I never noted when I tried again). I thot itch.io was down, but dif. sites sed it wasn't, so I'm gonna be careful how often I post here, just in case.

Hi, Valeriy! Big fan here. Thank you so much for a response to this, as I've been wondering about it ever since earthan first posted it! Fair enuf. Other things I find that can lag Bitsy hard is if u make too many rooms, or way too many exits. Always appreci8 such knowledgable ppl wn it comes to Bitsy. U and others have amassed more experience with it than I have so far, so I can't thank u enuf for your valuable insights!

THANK YOU SO MUCH, ADAM! You're the BEST!!

You're most welcome. :D

Hi, earthen! Yours is the question I read awhile back and got intrigued. I see that nobody still got back to u. Despite my many things I've learned the past year or so using Bitsy, I have no clue how to help u with this problem, but it sounds so interesting! I've read some things on variables from Andrew Yolland and a few others (ripple writes, Time 4 Sum BS Fish Names, etc), but I honestly have no idea on your query UNLESS Adam makes that a feature of sum kind in his next update?

Props to u for thinking of such a useful thing! Well, that's 3 posts in one day after just joining. Hope I was able to help a few ppl out at least, so they can enjoy even more of the wonderful world of Adam LeDoux's Bitsy! :D

I'll give my own 2-cents' worth here from what I've learned. You can actually make your game have chapters (think: NES Dragon Warrior 4)! All u do is: Use a Locked Ending and then make it stop so that u get a Title/Ending Screen, which is ur chapter. How? Just read Adam's tip in the Editor: In a Dialog window, click Exits & Endings, then Add an Ending, then a Lock for it under: Room Options. Now, click the "property" of the lock and u'll see Adam's tip:

"Change the value of a property: for example, set the locked property to true to stop an exit from changing rooms, or to prevent an ending from stopping the game."

Now test ur game so far and u'll c for urself that when u reach that point, u'll get a Title/Ending Screen. U can make as many "Chapters" as u like! Also, u can Change the Background Color of any of ur Chapter Screens via: Room Actions -> Palette.

Happy gaming!

Hiya, kenziekupyn and the rest of the Bitsy community! What you describe is what I noticed right-away when I started using v8.8. It's a BUG!! I hope Adam can fix it, because even tho you can use the workaround for now, it's so annoying. I'm sure more than just us have encountered it, just that no-one has come forth to suggest a permanent fix, so Adam, if you're around, PLEASE update the Bitsy Editor to get rid of that BUG.

And thank you, Adam. I've been using Bitsy (as well as Mosi, Bipsi, etc) for many months now and I love it! Past Engines I've used were the RPG Maker series (RM2K is my fave), but then I shifted to James Paige's OHRRPGCE (it's VERY complex, but I've used it for so many years that I know my way around, as well as coming up with new ideas to get around certain limitations!).

Sorry for using this thread to introduce myself, but this is the first in a LONG time of me ever making an online account for gaming purposes. I check the Bitsy Forum fairly often, and I'll try to reply to help ppl as much as I can. As for things I've done in Bitsy, well, I've made some games myself, but I also made my own versions of Rob Duarte's amazing YouTube tutorial videos. I also like to edit other ppl's B.Games, often adding my own stuff to their originals, it's so fun!

Now to reply a post on here from awhile back, since nobody knows about it. Cheers to everyone and happy game-making! :D
