Quite fun! I like how you give players the option to maximize their upgrades after perishing three times.  This is a very good foundation if you decide to add more features later on like multiplayer, new enemies, new weapons, etc. Good work! 😀

I like it. It's a very poetic game. 😀

I like how the cute pop-up storybook visuals seem to counter the seriousness of the narrative and thus gives it focus.

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! 😀

Thank you! I'll be sure to add more trivia in a future patch. 😁

I would be happy to check out your game today!

This is one of the most unique and intimate games I've played. Thank you for sharing something so personal and I'm very sorry for your loss.

As a game, the choice of music and the mechanics are particularly outstanding. I felt frustration and despair when I would repeat a level. At first, it didn't seem to make sense. But I also felt encouraged and stronger every time the level was overcome.  If these mechanics were meant to represent how you felt during that time, then it translates really well.

My only suggestion is about the text. I found that the text tends to disappear too quickly, especially during the Anger and Acceptance stage. Maybe you can share the game's story in a separate text format or as a devlog for those who are interested?

Thanks, again.

This game is super fun.  The graphics, music, sfx and font all work together well.  The level designs are also very good. The random levels option at the end is also appreciated. 😁

Just for feedback: I tried using a gamepad as well, but the zombies can't jump. There were some instances when they won't move so I would go back to the keyboard. Then after a bit, they would respond well to either keyboard or gamepad. But I still couldn't get them to jump with the gamepad.  Maybe this is related to the known issue you mentioned about the jump button not responding? Hope this helps!

Excellent work!

Very nice work! The surprises were awesome and funny, especially on level 8. 😁

Do you have plans on developing this further after the jam?

As what others have already said, the game definitely has a Vampire Survivors vibe. Well done!

Really good execution, so far.  I like the plans you have stated in your "Open Points". Based on how well-thought-out your Sokoban game is, I believe the "full release" version of this game can be really noteworthy.

I'm enjoying this game , so far. I haven't finished it yet, but I feel like there's a surprise twist at the end that will make the challenging levels worth it.

Excellent choices with the assets, too. The contrast between the colorful visuals and the "impending doom" music is superb.

The first few moments really grabs you into a true horror vibe like Silent Hill. Excellent team effort. Full marks.  😀

Reminded me of Plants Vs Zombies. If you plan on expanding this game, you are off to a really good start.

I can imagine the coding difficulties you went through given the  limited time frame, so excellent work on that front.

If there are future updates, I  hope you will make the first level easier.  😀

The story is very interesting. I really liked the pixel graphics, too. I hope you can include gamepad support in a future version. Good work! 😀

Very cool. It's like a rougelite/speedrun game. I appreciate difficult games, but I'd also suggest an "easy mode" for players like me who are more invested in the story.

Excellent work! Hope you do a follow-up! 😀

The retro vibe is great! Really smart use of the glowing techno lines for the texture. This could be a solid foundation for a bigger game project. 😀

Pac-Man! Very clever choice for the theme.  Fun and a bit tough.

Regarding the gamepad support, I thought that "standalone versions" referred to  the downloadable copies. I tried my gamepad with the browser version and it also worked flawlessly. Nice work!

Very innovative and challenging take on Sokoban. I feel the theme is reinforced quite well by the game mechanics. 😀

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! 😁

I plan to add more quiz options in a future version. Maybe a "quiz only" mode after the player completes the story.

Thank you very much ! Yes, I have plans of expanding the story someday; maybe in a comic book format.  😁

You are correct, there are no voice lines for this version of the game. I will adjust it so the game's voice volume is off in the next patch. Thanks!

The game was made with Ren'Py. It's an awesome engine for visual novelists and python game developers.

Thank you very much! 😀

Thank you for taking the time to send your feedback! And for your very kind words! 😀

I encountered the error myself when using Chrome. It seems like a browser issue as Firefox can run the game. I'm glad it worked out for you when you tried the Chrome Dev Tools. I should look into that, too.  I'm also looking for ways to solve this in a future patch.

Thanks again! 😀

Cool! I'll check out the games you made this weekend! 😀

Thank you very much for your kind words! 😊

Yes! I tried Ink some time before. It's brilliant! I really like it! It reminds me of Twine.  😁

I haven't tried using it it with Unity yet. Are you planning on using it?

apologies for the inconvenience. 😥

if you still wish to play the game, please try downloading the package available for your system. 😀

Thank you very much! I'm very glad you liked the game! 😁

Thank you very much for the kind words! I'm happy you liked the artwork! 😊  I'm hoping the trivia questions and answers will make casual fans of the vampire lore dig deeper. I'm a casual fan myself so it was fun for me to research this. 😅

The webgl issue seems to be a common one with certain types of games. It's mostly a browser-dependent, if I understand correctly. I'm studying up on this so any future games I make can be more browser-friendly.  😁

Sorry for the inconvenience! I've read this error is currently an issue that some visual novels have with Chrome and Safari browsers.  I'm looking for a way to fix what I can on my end.

If you wish, you can download the game and play it on your PC, Mac, or Linux system instead of through Chrome.

Thanks for the feedback!😀

Thanks for playing and making the video! I'm glad you gave it a second playthrough. I'll have an updated version soon and I hope you'll play again! 😀

Thank you very much! I'm glad you solved most of the questions and found both endings! 😁

Depending on the feedback, I might add a more difficult mode with harder questions in a future version of the game.  😅

Thank you very much for the feedback and compliments! 😁
When you encountered the error, did you use the browser version, or did you use any of the downloadable versions?
If you used the browser version, I believe I know what's causing the problem and  I'll have the game patched after the rating period is done. 😅

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked the game! 😁

Thank you very much! And thank you for the feedback! 😄
I think I know what's causing the bug now and I'll update the game after rating period ends.

Cheers!

Oh! Sorry, i thought only the source code was necessary. The media files have been uploaded now.  😄

Thank you! And thanks for making a video! 😄

ok, thank again!  😄

Thank you very much for the feedback! I'll look for that bug and try to fix it after the game jam. 😄
I'm guessing you played the game more than once? Did the error happen during your second playthrough?
