Hey if you have the time to play my game, it would be an honor!
Works on Firefox just fine by the way. :)
Saw a volume control for voices,.. but didnt hear any in the game.
What did you make this in? (I assume not Unity/Unreal)
I hope their's more to the story, and I get to read it some day :).
Well done!
Thank you very much ! Yes, I have plans of expanding the story someday; maybe in a comic book format. ๐
You are correct, there are no voice lines for this version of the game. I will adjust it so the game's voice volume is off in the next patch. Thanks!
The game was made with Ren'Py. It's an awesome engine for visual novelists and python game developers.
"Error: Uncaught RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded (see JavaScript console for details) This is a known issue in Safari and Webkit browsers. Please report this issue to Apple."
Got this error message in Chrome. Started developer tools up to see if something would pop up in the console and the game just started working. Not sure what that was about.
At any rate, I like the atmosphere of the game. The music choice was quite good. I wasn't expecting the quiz to be so intense. I really had to think about the answers.
Thank you for taking the time to send your feedback! And for your very kind words! ๐
I encountered the error myself when using Chrome. It seems like a browser issue as Firefox can run the game. I'm glad it worked out for you when you tried the Chrome Dev Tools. I should look into that, too. I'm also looking for ways to solve this in a future patch.
Thanks again! ๐
Great game, great art. Thanks for submitting it. I liked the story and without google, I would not have answered one question right.
I am wondering if you know Ink for storytelling: https://www.inklestudios.com/ink/ It's free, open source and plugs into Unity and has great features to make interactive fiction.
I basically use it when I have any meaningful amount of dialog. I use it in the other game I have here on Itch (Reciprocal Push), but anytime I have a meaningful dialog chain I import it and use it. It's a really great asset.
On top of being a great game, the amount of features available to the player is incredible...well done!
I really like the art of this game. It did, however, make me realize how bad I am at vampire pop culture trivia. I barely know any of the answers. I couldn't run the webgl version so I had to download first. Nevertheless, the art was amazing which is the most important thing a visual novel should have. Great submission!
Thank you very much for the kind words! I'm happy you liked the artwork! ๐ I'm hoping the trivia questions and answers will make casual fans of the vampire lore dig deeper. I'm a casual fan myself so it was fun for me to research this. ๐
The webgl issue seems to be a common one with certain types of games. It's mostly a browser-dependent, if I understand correctly. I'm studying up on this so any future games I make can be more browser-friendly. ๐
Haha, totally expected the questions to be about really obscure vampire lore in myths and stuff. Instead, it ended up being about vampires in pop culture, of which I actually knew a surprising amount. Good writing though! I really enjoyed it and I made sure to go back and get the bad ending as well. Great work!
The person in his mind refers to "qin qin" (i think) looking at the wolf head clamped to his leg, and then he askes her name.
Other then that, loved it.
Well written and she was cute as a button.
Great job!
Thank you very much for the feedback and compliments! ๐
When you encountered the error, did you use the browser version, or did you use any of the downloadable versions?
If you used the browser version, I believe I know what's causing the problem and I'll have the game patched after the rating period is done. ๐
I must admit, without Google, my only option is to become a vampire. A nice trivia game that only the most knowledgeable vampire connoisseur can complete without external aid. Nice entry!
Nice story. Hard questions.
As mentioned in another comment, her name is shown on the game dialogue before she introduces herself. I thought the protagonist was a mind-reader for a second. XD
Good job!
At some point her name is shown before the player asks her for it. Once in her dialog, once in the narrator's box...
