This was pretty cool! I only found the on pc with very basic info on it so I did not really have much idea on what to do. I did find and follow around some red eye guys for a bit before I lost them to the darkness. The story is based on a thought provoking subject so I would love to see a more polished version someday.
Took me a few times to figure out that I needed to press space bar after being hit. Even though it was on screen with so many things going on I just did not see it. Controls are a bit complicated for my personal tastes but I did manage to have a good time at the start of levels when things moved a bit slower.
After some testing I believe this was from pressing the space bar. I saw someone mention this in an earlier comment and it looks to do about the same thing, I have also not been able to recreate it w/o pressing the space bar. I guess I must have tried to jump or something out of reflex. At least it is easy to replicate, and hopefully it will be easy to fix
Thank you for taking the time to add your ideas!
- I will defiantly look into moving the pivot and see how that feels, It is something I had thought about doing but it got lost to that monster called time
- The code for the movement of everything is pretty bad imo. Well not bad, it works to add some movement and variety to the game but is just not what I was going for at all. I will look into smooth interpolation, I have heard of it but never really played around with it. I bet this explodes my brain and allows me to do exactly what I wanted to do in the first place.
- SPOT ON! My first thought was to make a metroidvania-lite that was much larger! A full body realistic human circulatory system with realistic anatomy and physiology functions that you had to learn to mimic or overcome to go to different areas of the body. No way I could do that in 2 weeks.. probably not even in a year lol. I may return to the project and see that vision come to life, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.
The audio was really nice and creepy fitting in with the visuals. I managed to get past the first puzzle and back to the start area but was too short on time to continue, I definitely want to revisit this so that I can finish. I read all the text in my head like cavemen, it was a enjoyable experience overall.
I fell for the bait to the left of level 3 lol Over all a good start. It has an issue with the player character getting stuck when you touch the side of platforms and that gets kind of annoying. Over all this is a great start, when you get the time to add sounds it will really bring life to the game!
I like the concept of changing sizes with each jump and having to plan out how you are going to kill all the enemies. I also like that the art was cohesive, looks self made , and not traditionally "pretty". The jump feels a bit fast and it can be hard to land where I am trying to go. Or maybe I just suck. xD
