Fun game! Definitely can be improved though, it felt a bit lacking in the upgrades or the player improving in some way, maybe you could get upgrades along the way?

A simple yet really fun game, the sound and art design is so nice aswell. Great job!

Yeah sure! Gaxyhs#6352

Honestly, the game is in such a good spot that I don't know a lot of ways to improve it.

Maybe surprise modifiers? For example, the lanes are now curved and requires a bit more attention to find the correct one to shoot

Another thing would be harder difficulty modes, with special settings like controlling multiple shapes instead of one for the people who love a challenge.

Achievements would also be a nice addition. " Clocksmith - Beat a level by only spinning clock-wise", " Pre Fire - Kill an enemy within 1 second of them spawning", or just milestone achievements for hitting certain levels. There's plenty of room to explore.

Such a simple concept and yet executed so nicely,  loved the music design and all the effects you added, the polish is simply amazing! The gameplay loop is so addicting aswell, the beat just makes it so much nicer too. Again, amazing work!

Thank you so much for such an in-depth review! I actually did try to add a soundtrack, however don't have enough skills to make a nice loop, I also decided not to try to find a soundtrack online because I wanted to only use whatever I can make within that timeframe

Learned to stop biting off more than I can chew, this was actually my first game I can say I'm "done" in my 8 months coding with unity because I would always go on to make games that would end up too big for me to finish and eventually abandon

Yeah, I admit the scaling was a bit slow at the start, mostly to not get overloaded right off the bat

About the exit button, I completely forgot to add a confirmation, when I realized the submission period was already over

Really nice! Music is so nice aswell which just improves this whole experience, graphics are very nice too!

Very neat game! Loved the need to change combat styles too, got me hooked!

Very nice game, love the visuals and how the speed increases rather fast and got me stuck trying to get a nice high score.

The music is so chill as well, great work here!

Very interesting combination of genres, the music aswell is really nice, great job!

Howdy! How about we do a bit of rate exchanging? You rate my game fairly and i'll do the same to yours :)

Here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/geojam-2022/rate/1588536

It's a shooter where you pick different sides for your square that you can use to beat circles, you can pick between different weapon sides or play greedy and buy some money generating ones

Your game looks and sounds so NICE, great job! Here's mine whenver you have time :D

It's nice to see people streaming these games! Would you maybe mind playing my submission aswell on the next stream? :D

Thanks! Yeah, the scaling can catch some people off guard after a minute or two since it starts slow, the rush of adrenaline you can get once you get far enough is also one thing that made me really enjoy playtesting this game

Awesome game! I could totally see myself getting lost for a while in this, pretty chill overall. You could check out my game aswell :)

Thanks! That would get a bit spammy once you get multiple weapons, and even then only the sniper side has a large enough cooldown for it to be worth it

Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, I probably should've explained the core mechanics better...

That's the boss special ability: stunning one of the sides and stopping it from doing whatever action it did until the boss dies

For example, say I want to add X feature to my game but I already submitted it, can I still update the game as long as it's still within the submission period?
