Very fun, gets hard very fast.

Fun and addictive! Liked how the big one disables one side. It really makes you think about what to buy.

Interesitng game, I like how you can shoot more enemies at once ;)

Wow, this was incredible! I loved the upgrading choices, the UI menu was very intuitive, and the prices seemed very balanced.

I loved the mechanic of the big square disabling one of your sides, that was very clever. The sound effects were very satisfying too, great job on those.

The first I would recommend would be making the enemies have half as much health, but twice as many, because the game felt a little slow at times. The second thing would be to add a music track! I know that it is daunting to create a music track if you haven't done it before, and I 100% get it if you want to challenge yourself to only use stuff you made. I think that music just makes games so much better. Even a simple synth melody with a basic beat goes a long way!

Fantastic job overall :)

Simple (in a great way), easy to figure out and right to the point.

Fun and addictive!

I think this game is the one I have for the longest considering the submissions of this jam, and I have played and rated over 100 of them already. Congratulations on creating an addictive, fun, and juicy game!

I am glad that you have stuck to the geometric limitations of the jam and created a game with simple shapes, and then added the cherry on top with post-processing and particles! The background, the enemies, and the character were all good-looking! Considering the juice, I found the sound effects and the particles very amusing. The game, overall, was nice to look at!

Apart from these, I wish there was a music track in the game so that I could enjoy the game even more. Even if you don't create a music track by yourself or with a team, don't forget to find and include one in your future game jams because it enhances the experience!

Excellent job!

Thank you so much for such an in-depth review! I actually did try to add a soundtrack, however don't have enough skills to make a nice loop, I also decided not to try to find a soundtrack online because I wanted to only use whatever I can make within that timeframe

Really like how you can upgrade! Cool game! Please rate my game! I rated yours!

Submitted(+1)

Really cool concept! I really liked all of the upgrades :D

I really liked the fact that there are upgrades and bosses. That gave a real sense of progression in the game and make the game much better than it otherwise would.

One thing I would improve is to make progression at the beginning faster, such as : make the bosses spawn earlier. The beginning was a bit tedious and slow.

Another thing is for exit to have a confirmation. I clicked shop then clicked exit , thinking that I was gonna exit the shop. Instead it exited the game.

Developer

Yeah, I admit the scaling was a bit slow at the start, mostly to not get overloaded right off the bat

About the exit button, I completely forgot to add a confirmation, when I realized the submission period was already over

The difficulty is brutal, I love it! I think some kind of feedback for when you hit but don't kill an enemy would be a nice addition, maybe a sound effect or a small screen shake. But overall, game is really fun, great job!

It was consfusing at first, but it is a wonderful game.

This game is tricky to understand in the beginning, but it's pretty fun once you get the hang of it! Nice visuals too. Good job!

Really a lot of fun! Not really any critiques except maybe the shop menu is a little bit overloaded and the volume slider is kind of in a weird place. But that does not really matter since the game play is really nice and satisfying!

I would love it if you could rate my game as well.  I'm trying to get at least 10 ratings!

THE MOST DIFFICULT AND GOOD GAME I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!

The game is so fun! good work!

It is a very entertaining game, at first I thought that I would leave it as soon as I entered but I spent a lot of time playing it, great job

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! Yeah, the scaling can catch some people off guard after a minute or two since it starts slow, the rush of adrenaline you can get once you get far enough is also one thing that made me really enjoy playtesting this game

Design is fire and overall a really good game! A bit hard to understand at first but after that a lot of fun! Check out my game aswell! :)
