You've probably seen knockoffs. They're never appreciated. Especially not this one.
The original Geometry Dash is fair enough; it's a game of running and jumping, dodging and navigating through complex courses to avoid death. It has polished graphics and exciting gameplay.
This is the exact opposite. It's in the third dimension. You don't need to run anymore; you jump, hide, and shoot giant spiders and mutated demons with legs. It takes place in a dark world, barely. It's ugly, cursed, and its graphics are abhorrent.
If you like polished and predictable games, don't play this. If you value your sanity, don't play it. Only if you feast on cursed, extremely cursed games, should you continue and click this link...
Great game! The graphics look very professional and the animated GUI makes the whole game experience a lot more interesting. Additionally, I liked the small details you added, such as background particles, which fit the old factory vibe. I will say, though, that the jetpack is a little slow for my liking, and even though the decorations look fantastic, it's a little hard to differentiate backdrop/decorations and the actual parts of the level. In terms of the sound effects, the background ambience and steam/jetpack sounds match the factory setting, although, as other people mentioned, some background music would be nice.
Overall, great game! It's really polished, and everything fits together. Good luck in the game jam.
For an eleven year old, this is a great game. (I'm not joking or anything, even though it is silly and slightly terrifying) The movement is relatively smooth and there are sprite collisions (scratch sprite collisions are so hard!), but the only bad things about this game are that there are highly compressed crayon ad images in the screenshots? And the game doesn't really match the theme.
I am still very confused about the random crayon image...
Nice game!
The controls are easy to understand and the game is pretty addicting. The dopamine rush I got from winning (even though I was really slow) made the game feel very challenging yet rewarding.
I think your take on the theme is very creative, and the game design is done very well.
The art for this game is pretty good, and I liked the font as well as the giant hot dog hanging in the background.
I might be wrong about this, but it seems that after the player successfully eats a hot dog, it doesn't really show in the game, only the counter goes down. (maybe add an eating animation/munching sound?) Additionally, I think the three competitors look really funny (especially the middle one) and it adds a lot to the game.
For the sounds, I like the background music, and even though it's a little intense-sounding for a hot dog eating game, I liked how you turned down the volume of it so that it fit better. The coughing sounds were a nice touch too.
All in all, this is one of the best games I've come across and one of the only games that I actually had fun playing. Good luck in this game jam!
Great game! The sound effects/visual effects were amazing, and the gameplay was extremely smooth, although it did get a little difficult at some points. The game matched the theme very well, and I think the overheat warning contributed to that very well. The textures for the level and character looked extremely well drawn, and the decorations made the level a lot more interesting. (Also the giant boss at the end was terrifying.) Great job on this game!
Great game! The controls are a little hard to understand at first (the gun), but after getting the hang of it, it was a really nice feature. The idea of this game is pretty good too, and I like how you put scriptures around the tower with the story inside. I will say, though, that the sussy wussy thing is extremely scary. (I'm not spoiling it for others)
Hi momosdabest, even though many people think this game really doesn't seem that good, I believe it has potential, and same for you as a developer. Also, if you spend enough time on scratch, it can teach you valuable skills for game dev in case you decide to switch to another game engine, or make your own.
The game idea's not bad, but I think the graphics could be higher quality.
Even though it isn't the best for speedrunning (there isn't a timer/levels), it is pretty satisfying to play as a casual game.
Keep up the good work!
Cool game! The movement is very smooth and it's very fast paced, which feels very satisfying. I also like the design of the robots.
Additionally, you mentioned that the UI was messed up, which is probably an issue with the build settings or the aspect ratio. Make sure you test the game on all aspect ratios and in the player settings make sure to set the default webGL window size to match the preferred aspect ratio.
Overall, great game!
