Hello, I am having this same issue. I am using Bitsy for the first time today,  so I can't offer a permanent solution. The temporary solution I have found is toggling "animation" on and off on my avatar,  it makes everything return to normal until it happens again when returning to editing after playing. I am also using firefox! Hopefully a better solution is found!

I have been struggling with a lot of guilt recently, this game made me sob but also feel less alone. I think I found this game exactly when I needed it, thank you.
