Yes, it'll be a good way for my son to learn some game development alongside me!

This was so much fun! The music and SFX fit the tone so well!

Imagine how much more if I actually added animations and SFX!

Potentially, then there's the possibility to drive different ones. I've always found it interesting how in Thomas & Friends, the engines are their own characters. In earlier books it's more vague how much control the driver and fireman have, and to what extent they're wrestling with the personality of the engine. In later books and TV series, the drivers may as well not even be there, it's practically the engines themselves driving around and talking to each other.

This is much better than my train game! I came across a bug where selecting the same tool more than once at the station would cause increasingly large explosions. Also it's not always clear what's collecting what, or how to reach some of the coins at odd angles.

It looks very pretty! It's a shame you didn't get to implement the gameplay, but from your description it sounds like you're getting more efficient at game development so in future you may be able to achieve more in the same timeframe :)

This is good fun, and tricky to master!

This is great! It's easy to get yourself stuck in a cage of your own making, but that's part of the challenge :)

It's definitely a dad-game, but in my case I am the dad :D

This was good fun, although like others have said, it's easy to get game over without realising why!

My eventual goal is to add RPG elements, such as characters to speak to at stations, quests to deliver goods, and unlockable exploration of a railway network.

The short-term goal was to implement the difficult bits first (track-following, wagon collision) so that me and my son can work on the interesting bits together!

It was fun to discover the different combinations!

I like this one! To begin with, I thought the speed of the flute-playing matched the speed at which I was moving the vikings, but it was just a coincidence!

I do apologise if you encounter either of the following bugs, I didn't have time to find and fix them on the Sunday:

  • Sometimes you choose a character, but the action menu remains greyed out
  • Sometimes the AI can't decide what to do, and just sits there forever

The only solution at the moment is to refresh the page to restart the game. Sorry!
