I don't know. I did not exchange words with the dev so I am not sure if it is because it cause problem on his end or he is not aware there are Artemis linux players.

I just hope I can continue to paste over the renpy files for linux and that it will still work in the futur.

Well, I am also on linux (pop os) I just copy the .sh file from the demo to the new chapter. Then, when an error appear, it tells me which file I need to copy and where from the demo. I did that since linux support stopped. i just hope the dev does not change renpy version. xD

I also play on linux. When the .sh and ./lib/linux-x86_64/* are missing I copy them over from a previous version of the game or sometimes try to copy them from other games entirely. But when it is from a previous version of the game I feel like things have better chances of going smootly.

I'd like a native support for linux, but I don't complain because the work around is simple.

That remind me of a previous post about the .sh not being executable right after extraction and being complicated to make it so under windows.

Yep! It is great to see, it shows transparency, good communication and in turn increase trust in Capt'n.

Well. Far top right of this web page, clic on the down arrow, first link.
That's what I do.

Same boat, I paid one time and have all chapters.
I go to My library > Download (red square under the game tile) > I choose the version I want (Chapter 4).

Edit: To access My libraryyou can go to the far top right of this web page, clic on the down arrow, first link.

Contact Itch.io?

If you paid 10usd for a previous chapter, in the My Library section of your account you can find the game and download the latest one. It should work as long as the price does not increase.

Hi! I read your message but I don't understand if you thought you had to pay for the new chapter or you bought the game a second time by mistake. Because I paid for chapter 2 and I could download chapter 3 and 4 when they were first available. I go in My Library and clic on Download below the game tile and choose the latest link.
Ah! I think I understand now, if I clic on the download link here I can only choose chapter one even if I am logged in.
Anyway, what I am saying is a one time payment of 10usd unlock all futur chapters as long as the price do not increase. But to download it I do as I said above.
Have a nice day!

I paid 10$ for chapter 1 and got all the others (2 and 3 at the moment) for free. Unless the price go up I think I will get the other chapters.

Well, it could also be posted on alternative websites to offer more choices.

PixelDrain has a free tier with 20GB file size limit, 20GB weekly download limit. But the download speed is great.
UploadHaven seems good also, but I have not used it much.
WeTransfer is nice but not adequate for long term storage. Iirc it delete the file after a week, but it as been a long time since I used it and could be different now.

There are more but on the top of my head those are the alternatives I remember.

I use Firefox and got the same error, after 2go it stopped  and there's nothing I can do about that in Firefox. I used Chromium/Chrome to download it and it worked well. If you don't have a chromium based browser you could install the Mega app.

Hello snakecult, I think it is a solo project by digi_b.

I am guessing digi_b use windows with ntfs as the file system for the storage media.

In short, it can not be done.

I looked how to store linux (ext4) files properties on windows (ntfs) and as far as I know it can not be done. I tried transferring an executable .sh  from linux to windows and back and the .sh was not executable anymore.
It has something to do with ntfs not being POSIX compliant. I don't remember in details but in short, ntfs (windows) have no way to store linux file properties.

That being said, there are solutions around that.
1) Using a dedicated hdd/ssd with ext4 (or another compatible) file system can be used with WSL 2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux 2) or another program (for exemple Linux Reader) for compatibility.
2) Using a linux virtual machine, copy the files, change the file permissions, compress and then upload from the VM.
3) Maybe using a docker container (which require WSL 2) with a custom script to automate the properties changes, compression and upload.

Seeing the additional requirements I kind of feel bad asking digi_b for that.
Maybe adding a link that explain how to make it executable by the user would be sufficient. I don't know.

P.S.: The comment is a bit long sorry, I did not know how much details to write.

edit: added "by the user" to make the sentence clearer.

I though so too, but when I bought chapter 2, in september iirc, I had access to chapter 3 when it came out. I was pleasantly surprised.

Edit: I don't know if it is limited to a number of updates after purchase. But I assume it is for  every updates  unless maybe the price change. i don't know.

yeah me too.

Hi digi_b! Thank you for your work. I've got the 3.1 right now (took an eternity with mega 5go download limit per day) and noticed there are no files for linux. Since I use ubuntu that a bit of a problem to run it.

I copied:
./ _ARTEMIS.sh
./ _ARTEMIS-02.1-pc/linux-x86_64
into the new version structure and it works! But know that the linux port is appreciated if it is not too much work for you.

Again, thank you for your work!

I'mma dive right in.
