well i feel kinda bad for him and his family. the sad thing is, this isnt even the first time i seen an rpg maker game go like this
There was one fight that was terribly long, becuase it gave me ballet twins ptsd. Gosh i almost died there
this game is generally pretty good, however, it seems the item shop was actually a charity that gave everything away for free. 92 revives sure made this an ultra casual adventure. Anyway the second boss turned out to be the hardest one due to triple attack, took a while to figure out u needed a big brain method for him. The final boss died extremely fast, did he not heal when he changed? But anyway this was a simple but fun rpg.
This game is challenging and that would be fair but several times i get killed from glitches. E.g. i had times where i get killed by an enemy behind my kick box because of how rpgmaker calculates collision instantly rather than sprites moving and i moved towards the enemy while it was being killed by the box. I had a ton of trouble against the final boss due to glitches:
- the bat form somehow 'dodged' my box when i kicked it towards him (this can happen with regular enemies too)
- skipping the final boss cutscene puts me in a black screen while the cutscene plays anyway. this black screen then continues to persist when the boss fight begins
- if i was on a chain while the boss dies, a softlock occurs as the protagonist is stuck on the chain
getting this many glitches in a final boss was extremely annoying. I hope this feedback helps to improve the game for future players.
i played this thru steam, managed to get to the end but it was way more effort than it should have been. There are alot of glitches that mess up the playing experience. Some big ones that come to mind are:
I want to say this is different from some of the game design choices that are rather unconventional, for example removing the player's inventory without warning. While annoying, that mechanic makes sense in game and the player will have to adapt to the new situation. That's ok. Another interesting thing is that the game actually becomes somewhat open world once you get in the volcano. The game difficulty suddenly ramps up and you are left stuck in a volcano filled with powerful enemies. This can be quite intimidating and I almost quit at this point. But, once I escaped the volcano I had to explore everywhere to empower myself so that i can eventually tackle the main objective. And it was definitely possible to figure everything out. Without the major glitches and the sudden difficulty increases, this game is actually not too bad.
P.S. Putting a save point inside of a timed section is also very questionable. The first time i got unlucky and had tons of encounters, getting to that save point with about 2 seconds left on the clock so I couldnt save, and had to go all the way back when I lost to the final boss the first time.
Yea, i found all the red coins and got inside that cabin in area 3. And I actually played a couple of your other games some time ago. They all have pretty interesting mechanics, if i remember. Im also kinda more focused on gameplay than story when i make a game too, so that is completely understandable. Thanks for the game!
thanks for the tip, finished the game now. Unfortunately i do not see any logic in how hitting the side of a cliff would cause the house above it to move at all. If I was hitting the house directly then that would be fair. I can believe that dog tail whip can break a barrel or pot but this going kinda too far to believe. The way the game ended was also kinda lame. I liked the game enough to get all the collectibles but this was a bit disappointing.
played this on steam just now. Pretty simple game for the most part. Ending felt like earthbound, which seems to be fairly common in rpg maker games. I tried the bonus area for a bit and the first boss straight up kills everyone with a seemingly unavoidable 350 dmg aoe. Overall, a nice and simple rpg.
Nice game. My party was reid (generalist), ricca (healer), shiv (blindness spam), and the fire mage girl. The second boss was super hard, almost gave up there. But everything after that was much easier. You wouldnt believe how happy i was when the mage learned paralysis, had a great time vs the final boss
Hey, thanks for playing the game! And yea, I had fun making it! The forest turned out to be much more difficult than the other puzzles, so I will make it less confusing after the contest ends. This is the first time I joined IGMC so I didnt expect so many people streaming IGMC games! Been pretty fun so far!
Hey, thanks for playing my game for IGMC! Glad you liked it! The save disable towards the end was a bug that i missed, it wasnt intentional. I also wanted to add more to the ritual and the endings but ran out of steam towards the end. After the contest ends I will probably be doing some fixes and maybe add more to the end so thanks for the feedback!
Literally radiant arc. Pretty good standard rpg, I managed to get to the end of the demo even with the small lag and all battles being stuck zoomed in for some reason. The difficulty is pretty challenging. I had way too many close calls and the boosts made a HUGE difference in the outcomes of the fights. Overall a fun game!
hey, i streemed this and it was fairly enjoyable. There were a number of minor issues typical of a first game but most of them didnt really detract from the story itself, except i personally didnt like the slow move speed of the main character. At the end of the day it was a nice little romance story and i liked it. Nice game!
Fun game where you play as a bearded dude with a monocle footpumping an axe to kill imps. The only problem is that i completely missed the lantern 2 feet away from me at the start, so i ended up getting nowhere in total darkness. But i restarted got the lantern and finished this fast game. Pretty funny, i liked it!
"dont worry about anything, lets party"
This game is very funny, and im not just talking about the randomness of the plot, or what was the point of the wood and the ores. The battle system itself is hilarious as well. I love the over the top choreography, the broken overpowered skills i get, the elemental reactions, all of it. The ending was also completely random, but when the dude just said "dont worry about anything, lets party!", i agreed. Thanks for making this crazy game!
hey, i played your game and i thought it was pretty funny. however, i couldnt seem to get past the forest since it is a looping map without any way to advance. The encounter rate is also quite high for my liking. And when i went back to town i cant rest in my house or the inn.
There are side paths in the forest but they dont go anywhere so i was hoping to get some info on what to do next?
despite looking very simple this is a pretty long open world rpg. there are many different ways to progress and defeat the game, but i think each character could have more different kinds of spells instead of most of them having the same default spells that are kinda weak. Also the only rpg i know that has a depressed frog girl
