I wish I could give a high score, you really have potential. Sadly though, I had a lot of trouble with your game. Firstly, and this is a big one, when I was playing your game, it starting slowing down to unplayable levels. Perhaps it's an optimization error or a poorly built web version. Second off, I couldn't really see anything, and especially not the player themselves. Maybe try simplifying your code, fixing the web version, and redoing the light engine. It can be a fairly good game with some upgrades done, but as of right now I can only wish you luck on your later works.

The levels were intended to just be regular platforming, but perhaps I made the last level a bit too convoluted. I'll look into it in the next version, thank you for pointing it out!

it's certainly gonna take some time for the rating stage to be done. I know I like to keep my pace slow, as to not wear myself out playing games. Hold out hope, I'm sure you'll do/did great!

A quality platformer for sure! You've done well at implementing the mechanics of a platformer in your game, and I love your tactic of using the player themselves to light up the torches, a neat use of the darkness theme! However, I do think you could do with making it just a bit darker before you start lighting up the torches, to give a bit more pizazz to the act of completing a level. That being said, I really enjoyed it, and would have played way more levels if there were!

I like it! A fun implementation of a maze game, and fits the idea of darkness fairly well. I had a hard time separating the character from the surroundings at times though, the contrast may need a little redoing. That being said, with a bit of polish, some audio, and a few more levels,  this would definitely prove itself as a solid game!

It's alright, just a communication issue on my end, I take responsibility. I'll definitely have to go and check out your game tho!

A simple, but pretty fun little game! I enjoy the fast pace that the game falls into after a little bit in a round. The visuals could do with a bit of a revamp, but not a biggie for a quick jam game. Perhaps some more long-term game elements as well. Overall, I certainly don't regret playing it at all.

Thank you, and that is a good list of things to add. It might just be me being paranoid, but it felt condescending being explained what those are, considering I tend to add them when I have more time. That aside, I'll certainly put them in when I go in and fix up all the code after!

Good idea! I'll look into adding that post-jam.

I can certainly get some assets made for your future games, I'd like to say my price is pretty cheap! :D

Definitely not gonna have a full game's worth of levels, but I had fun trying to make a monochromatic tilemap!

it depends on the style, ive got a fairly geometric-ish and solid colored style ejen i do backgrounds. But if that's what you want, i can help.

What's the theme, I could put together some demo sprites to see if you're interested
