I didn't get very far tbh, but I like the idea that darkness acts as some kind of idle cap in the sense that it removes your progress if you idle too long. That could be frustrating for some, but if its deliberately designed around it this might make an interesting game. As you alluded to in the description, it is pretty unfinished, but the basics are there!

Aside from the design, this would heavily benefit from some additional automation; the most tedious part was grinding burning would (by constantly switching between manually buying sparks to buying wood, because automation would reset). Still, the balance was very nice and I liked the strategic parts with the burning wood mechanic!
Maaan the balance on this was perfect. The deceleration mechanic, the ability to choose between more active and passive play, the laser mechanic, the "challenges" all added to an amazing experience. Only two downsides: It reminded me (optically and concerning the basic mechanics) a lot of Antimatter Dimensions, and I guess the use of the theme was somewhat superficial. Still, easy 5/5 for fun and balance.
This is really good, I like it! One thing I missed dearly was some form of chart where I can see my current energy generation, ideally even how much of it comes from what generator, so I see how much energy I can afford to send to the city, when to switch engineers etc. But apart from that, very nice game and very good execution.
