Thank you so much! 😀
It's first time I get a donation on itch
DUDE!!!
It turns out I just ran to the boss and killed him, not knowing that there were items.
The items are very cool - cookies that leave crumbs behind, deer antlers that bounce off the walls - very thematic)
I also found a bug... in one of the rooms my screen just went black and I couldn’t do anything about it
By collectibles I mean coins, hearts. power-ups - whatever you pick up and feel better and stronger. It was always a satisfying feeling in "The Binding of Isaac" game when you pick up items and you shooting pattern changes or something like that.
I understand that this is small project but if you want to make a bigger one - items is a must have thing :)
Maybe you din't notice but the graphics maintain pixel-grid structure (when an object rotates, its lines become pixelated and these pixels do not rotate, but simply rearrange themselves according to the position of the line, creating the illusion that you were drawing frame by frame in pixel art, but its just rendering magic going on)
It was funny) I played with a smile on my face from start to finish
The idea of turning bullets that miss into enemies is very funny
I also like health gift boxes
The rooms lacked some collectibles, but overall the game ends quickly enough and it doesn’t get boring.
Honestly, I would play a full-fledged New Year's Isaac like this game if it existed)
Please tell me how you did the pixel rendering! As far as I understand, the characters are drawn with raster graphics, but they rotate while maintaining the pixel structure... how?!))))
This was fun! I like that there is a real impact of your choise - the team could be realy good or realy bad.
After few playthroughs I think that range character are kinda bad, expecialy mage... this dude aim so bad I wanna cry.
So better just hire some folks with swords, shields. Assasins are very usefull too.
Thanks for such small but fun game - good job!
The game has an interesting idea, but unfortunately the positive impression quickly subsides when you start playing directly and not looking at screenshots.
Add a Y-sorting so that Santa hides behind the trees if he is above them.
Add music or a winter wind ambient , because it’s not interesting to play in silence.
The sound of footsteps in the snow is a good thing, but it is quite loud and monotonous. To make the sound of footsteps sound more pleasant, developers usually add randomization of volume and pitch.
I like the mini-game with gifts, but I didn't like the technical implementation.
It was not possible to cancel the action or transfer the gifts back to the “bag” if you did not place them correctly.
I ended up getting stuck on the first house due to my inability to correct my mistakes in the puzzle.
Good luck in your future developments!
Thank you so much for such a detailed feedback! You talk about left hand... unfortunately I poorly explain to players that you can use arrow keys to - which is more comfortable for right hand I guess.
At the start I thought about the game as a rythm game, where you must eat fruit in beat, but it's so hard to code and 20 seconds is too short to give player enought "beat windows" to justify rythm mechanic
Where is sounds and music? I want generic circus music!!!!
The gameplay is fun, I like that you could choose different amount of balls :)
Also I like win/lose clown screen - nice little story telling element
But the souuuuuuuuuunds... please add generic circus music and bouncing balls sfx or something like that
The game feels strange for several reasons:
- there are no sounds or music, which makes what is happening a strange silent movie
- the idea seems strange plot-wise, which is not always a bad thing, but I would add more humor to make the situation even more absurd. For example, you can add people who fall out of the balloon when it turns upside down.
- I like that the boat is not convenient to control - it makes the game process less trivial
- I would add some kind of opportunity for the player to push the balloon up, for example with hot steam from a ship’s chimney
- I don't like that the ball flies off the screen and the player has to play blindly outside the camera - it's not fun and feels like a bug. You can give the balloon the ability to bounce off walls, or let it be immediately struck by lightning or eaten by a huge whale - anyway, the game ends immediately when the balloon leaves the screen.
Thanks for playing!
Don't tell me you didn't get to the second and third levels... I'm really sorry that I didn't get the difficulty right.
Regarding the background, I completely agree with you. Towards the end I had the idea to make 3 color schemes for the clouds to match the colors of the levels... but at that point I was already tired of the project and just released it.
I repainted these clouds so many times in different shades of pink, but I didn’t like anything so I just made them white - suitable for any color and exhaled :)
There is some game-braking bugs in game.
I cannot restart the game after starvation ending.
Also when I reload game page its some times spawn me in the middle of the door B choise instead of just reset the game from start.
The game idea is funny but I just can't see the whole game due poor technical realization.
This is dope!!!!
The art. sounds and the overall concept!
It was fun, thank you.
Manadged to kill the boss in second attempt. Rank C
The random level is very cool thing to make game feel fresh each time. The boss battle is really depends on level structure - some are easier, some very hard.
I can't kill half of this enemies, the controls is not very comfortable - I always forget what button for jump and what for shoot.
