Yeah, it's still being worked on!
Right now, I'm experimenting with the gameplay and stuff, trying to fine tune the maps for the Gameboy's limitations and such. I'm projecting that a finalized Impact Site and beta Forest of Hope preview will release between December 5th or 15th.

Actually, in a couple of days, I'm going to post concepts for areas and even a 10-second sneak peak of the new Impact Site design.
One issue I've run into is the project hates me, so most things are remade from scratch, but it does include my new programming style, which optimized everything, so the final game should run faster.
Alright just finished playing, and its pretty good!
The characters look nice, and the plot is interesting.
My only complaints are
- Its hard to move
- I swear I never have enough fuel.
- When the third challenge ends, you are sent back to the challenges, and softlocks the game, as you can't leave.
- The really high ledge right before the flag in challenge 3 is insanely hard to do, and it feels nearly pixel perfect. Maybe just 1-2 tiles lower?
- The isometric view in the simulation is trippy, because you don't move very isometric-y.
Overall, a solid 8/10 game, for a beta version. I'm sure the full version will be awesome!
(I Would reccomend GBStudio Central for tips on how to make isometric movement)
Pretty cool concept. My only issues are:
1. There are no sound effects. i would recommend using FX Hammer (here's a cool tutorial for using it) to make them, as the sounds turn out more cleaner, and usually sound more retro.
2. The recorded music is really annoying I recommend that you download MIDI files of the og soundtrack, then copy the notes down. It's tedious, but I think the result is super cool, and worth it! Or maybe somebody else already made the .uge files, or a famitracker remix you can copy.
3. I feel like the controls are a bit strange, but i understand if it's a bit too difficult to change.
Otherwise, the artwork looks amazing, and Sonic looks super awesome! I think if you can learn how to animate the flowers and water, this will become a good sonic gbc port.
Yo! My man! I LOVE this engine, I use it constantly, and nicely. I do have 2 questions though…
1. How do you procedurally generate sprites?
2. Is it possible to make a GBA Studio? I would myself, but I can’t probably can't code in that language, or know where to start.
Thank you for making this epic engine, I hope you have a good day (or night)!
Ok, see ya.
