Love the art - game really captured that old-school Gameboy vibe! It was very fun to wander around and the little notes had a nice storyline I enjoyed following!

Pretty fun  game, love the art style and the whole gb look, The movements were a bit wacky at times but didn't really spoil the game much!  The story and whole setting was pretty neat too!

A good entry !

Pretty cool game, not gonna lie! I got stuck at the kitchen door, but i was probably being ignorant and blind. The 1-bit art style is also really neat. The problem though, is after I die, i can't play, since after I go back to the title, it keeps thinking i died. Really cool game though, 4/5 stars

The jump almost requires you to run first, or hold the button down as long as possible, so I can see why you had a problem there. I had the jump a little stronger before, but the lack of head room made it harder to land some jumps so I reduced it. Unfortunately, I also didn't notice the bug with the health because I always stopped the game completely when testing, but I'll definitely fix that once the jam's voting period is over. Thank you for playing and for the kind response!

The presentation of this game is really good! Narrative games are always so cool to me as I am not creative enough to come up with my own storyline. The controls feels a little slippery, but the gameplay is still fun nonetheless!

Developer

Thank you for the kind feedback about the presentation and narrative! I agree that the controls are a bit slippery. I'll see what I can do after the voting period ends to fix that.

A fellow GB Studio maker!

Love the art, and how choosing to add no extra color, is in itself a color choice!

The game itself reminded me of some of my favourite platformers on GB/GBC, games like Tom and Jerry, Aladdin etc. Great work!

Thank you for the kind comment! I'm glad you saw some of the inspiration in my work too! I love Gameboy platformers and had never really done one before, so thought this would be a good learning experience.

The art is really good. The all audio fits well with the game too. I especially liked having the BGM silent before the final fight. The variable jump height is a great addition. Having the time slowed down when receiving damage is really cool too.

I think that the gameplay still have room for improvement. The movement feels a bit slippery, but which is fine since the game is short and doesn't really punish the player for their mistakes during platforming. I would personally prefer the levels to have more head space so that I don't hit the ceiling so often.

One bug I found is that the player's health doesn't get recovered between playthroughs, so if you died and restarted the game, the player will die immediately.

Overall, it's still a fun game. Great job on it.

Thank you for the kind and detailed feedback! I hadn't caught that bug, so thank you for pointing that out for me. This was my first time making a platformer, so I really appreciate you taking the time to give me specific feedback that I can use to make the game better. <3
