Loved all the sea creatures and their animations, would have been cool to ride the turtle or grapple with the jellyfish. Platforming was solid although I think the jump could have used some tweaking - the floaty feel of the long jump matched the movement of the character very well but the fast fall on the short jump felt a bit abrupt. Overall, a nice little project, great job :)
The ninja controls very nicely and jumping around the level felt very easy to get a hang of. Art, animations, and sound are all great, they do a good job of selling the environment to the player. Unfortunately, I got stuck after 5 valves and had to kill myself because there was no platform I could reach to get up and no more valves on my level. As others have said, valves and chests are a bit hard to spot because of the colour scheme, but this would be a pretty easy fix. Overall very nicely made and a fun little game, nice work :)
Really impressive work, incredible atmosphere and some excellent mechanics. I enjoyed the combat once I got to grips with dodging and countering, it felt very satisfying to face off against the sharks. I did find that the camera control in some places was fighting against me, and I eventually died because a shark attacked me from off-screen. Overall, an amazing piece of work, nice job!
Very cute, I’m a big fan of the code touches that make this aquarium fun to watch. Fish flocking behaviour and chain physics on the vacuum/seaweed are really nice touches. Art also looks amazing, and the game sounds good too. My only criticism is that it took me a little while to work out how to feed the fish. Overall an excellent piece of work!
Cool environment, great artwork, sounds are spot on, and the flatter stretches of the levels feel great. Some of the platforming sections art a bit tricky with the way the camera and shark move, especially when you run out of water. I think if you reset the water bottles each lap, or had fountains at the bottom of the platforming sections, the player would find it much easier to complete the race in a good time. A lot of cool ideas and a great game!
You captured the feeling of moving around underwater really well, the floaty jump feels spot on. I think you maybe could have added more checkpoints for a jam game, especially before jumps where the player can’t see what they’re about to encounter (falling into spikes, for example). Enjoyed the challenge nonetheless! Nice work :)
I disagree with other commenters, I like the mechanics a lot and I think this has legs to become a full game. I would argue that maybe a competitive fishing round with AI boats might be more compelling than the better, but I can see that the betting is a very board game way to solve the problem. The boat is a bit difficult to control, especially trying to steer and complete the QTE at the same time. Overall a great project to come out of a jam!
Very impressive in terms of scope, and finding islands and other sailors in the ocean gives you a nice feeling. I had to restart a couple of times to work out where I was going - the King doesn’t remind you after the first dialog - and then it took me a long time to find the first island because it wasn’t directly West of the starting island. Easy to see where this could head with more time, I can imagine following shipping lines and landmarks from island to island, and like I say, incredibly impressive to get all this done in the time.
Super impressive mechanically, and I’m a big fan of the style of this game. Exploring the world was interesting and clearly broken up into trash-collecting chunks. A lot of information to digest at the start of the game so I’m glad the itch page has the controls as well 😅 Also took me a while to find my first shell (the crab looks so cute with it on). Overall a great entry, nice one!
Really nice setting, style, balance of sounds with the gameplay. It’s very addictive to simply run in a little loop in the bottom-right, building up a queue of enemies following you. Wasps are pretty brutal in their movement patterns but the player can definitely get around it.
I think you could benefit from adding somewhere on your page that the character attacks automatically, I lost some health at the start from running up to the ducks 😅
The game experienced a couple of heavy frame drops, so you might have some inefficient garbage collection happening somewhere.
Overall a very fun entry! Great work!
