This was a cool game, definitely shows the framework of a good boss battle. Movement was tight, but sometimes the attack hitbox seemed a little off, but maybe that was just me. The one big issue I had with the game was that it was virtually impossible to see and react to what was a real hit and what was not. Some phases you could smash with no fear due to his set movements that wouldn't track you, but the later parts of the fight ended up needing to be just a slug fest where you had to hope that you took few enough hits early on to survive and that some of the shockwaves that would go your way were fake. That aside though, this was well put together, so well done!

How does you game fit the theme?
It's a boss fight with some projectiles that can be real, or not :)
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Some graphical buyed assets have been used and credited. (You can find mac build on the game page)

A nice game, very challenging but polished and a nice art style congrats!
Damn the movement feels really nice in this game! Gonna have to come back to this later to see if I can beat it. I came so close a couple of times but I think I need a break. Hope you keep working on this! Could definitely see this as a boss rush game where you have to try and get through as many as possible.
FINALLY... AFTER SO LONG...
I WON
I'm dying inside. This was really frustrating but very well made.
Amazing job, keep improving this,
(could you rate mine as a reward please馃ズ)
Very challenging game, had fun trying to figure out what was real and not, took awhile like any boss but was worth it, Great job!
A fun game, and a challenging boss fight! I like that each stage of the boss had a slightly different moveset to make it feel more varied. The controls were solid; the only thing in that regard I would improve is the ability to dodge attacks, especially whenever the player is attacking. The other main critique I have is that the boss often moves too quickly to be able to dodge its attacks; this added to the challenge, but also made it feel a little unpredictable. Great job, and well done on the game!
Cool game! I like the concept, but unfortunately most of the attacks were too quick to make decisions based on if they were real or not. Slowing them down, or adding some anticipation before they come out would help a lot. But the animations were cool, and the core of all the attacks and stages were well designed, just need a bit of tweaking. Good work!
Thank you for your feedback! Indeed that's thing that are not easily saw when you're designing the boss as you know what's coming next. We'll definitely do some adjusments regarding the animations to make the anticipation a little bit longer and we'll try to add some feedbacks before the projectiles actually appears to determine if it's real or fake.
really nice game , and also just saw your message of game just below mine at discord
Cool boss fight, I liked the different stages and the abilities!
I was playing on a controller and I think having the sword attack on RB (right bumper) makes more sense, because then you can use right stick to aim. I might also be used to Elden Ring controls because I've played that a lot lately haha.
A very entertaining boss fight, the controls feel great. It was a very tough fight, I got the life bar to turn red, but then they killed me. Great job!
well, it this is a, it not you its me situation, lol I am not used to key board controls, I know right I am making indie games and I use a controller and not a key board and mouse .
I am trying to get accustomed to using mouse and key board, I can see that a lot of time was spent on creating smooth character control for your game. I mapped the controls to a controller and played it again and it was easier for me.
one other thing that I noticed when playing is is that in my opinion the camera should be a little wider or more offset so that the boss is easier to see while I was playing it seemed to be hidden under the health bar UI.
Lots of room for growth, especially when it comes to boss telegraphing. The instantaneous teleporting on top of the character could have some kind of tell so the character can adjust to that. This could easily be part of a series of boss fights where the player has to deal with various kinds of bosses.
Haha you think you almost got him then BOOM another health bar! Cool game :D
I don't think the game really fits the theme of the game jam. The boss fight is nicely made though!
Visuals are soooo great xp It's quite challenging for me, nice game!
Very well cured in the details, the arts is neat and enjoyable. Game play is easy to understand and funny. Well done! Please rate our game too if you can!
Good luck!
Really cool audio and really cool graphics. Doesn't fit the theme very well imo.
It isn't really clear which projectiles are real and which are not, overall a good submission to the game jam, I enjoyed it very much :]
(ps: for Linux users: it works with wine)
