This is very nice approach to the theme, I love it...however it takes quite some practice, especially figuring out how to cut the fish :D Also do I understand right, that in order to serve the food you actually remove all the good parts, but leave the poisoned parts? :D
But really, great job done, love it, one of my favorite games in the jam so far!
Very solid entry for your first submitted project. I think that you have chosen a good type of a game in order to put in quite a lot of content. Few suggestion for the future (or a post jam version):
- make it bit more challenging - you have pletny of enemies already but it still lacks bit more "juice". You can easily add smaller/bigger types of enemies. You can even make certain type of enemies come from the right... this way you'll make player to be more active
- part of the challenge could be also fasten up the speed
- player could have different types of shots
- screenshake - is simple yet powerfull effect to juice your game
These are really just a suggestions that I can see, would make this game, bit better, but overall you did really great job! I see that there are also few things to polish, like stop the motion of an object after it is destroyed, as you can now see the score moving. These are really barelly a complaints as your game feels truly good for a jam game! Keep it up and thanks for your game! Good job
THis is very neat entry. At first I thought that it is impossible to finish the first task, as it felt bit hard, but I was able to do it, and finish even the second task, that felt bit too easy :) Anyway the fox is saved :) But really cool to see 3D submission, and I think that with just few tweaks this would be a real blast! Great job done!
Quite impressive game for game jam, however from the very start there is maybe bit too much content to absorb and orientate in. Perhaps start with just few options from the start and then pile up would be a way, but this is barelly a complaint since you can' t balance everything especially during game jam timeframe. Great job!
Difficulty would need some fine tuning as well as it would be useful to have maybe more abilities? As in some situations I found myself just waiting for Z to reload. On the other hand I love the idea and the setting of the game is really cool. Can imagine that this could evolve into a bigger project. Great job!
You definitelly should try it... this is first time I did Pico-8 game myself, and I love it. Also I have started with Pico-8 just 1 week before this jam, so the learning curve is really steep. It is bit different work then with othe engines like Godot/Unity, but I would recommend this everyone to try it!
