I like the art for the game, the snake is pretty cool.
The field of view is rather small in my opinion, so it feels like you are just aimlessly exploring until you figure out where the different biomes are. It might help to have a way to either navigate home or teleport home because after aimlessly exploring it can be difficult to find your way home again.
Thanks for the game.
Thanks for giving it a run!
I'm aiming to get through at least half of the games by the end of voting, at least 35 more to go. At least 1 of the guys on here has played everyone's game, and commemted on most of them. I don't have the time for that but will try to get through as many as I can.
That's nice! I'm mildly on my way too, I've rated only 70 games so far though
I love the visuals of the game. It is great that you have only some hints for the correct items and you have to use some logic to figure out what to collect.
From what could be improved: It is pretty easy to get lost, some arrow ainimg home would be handy. The controls for item management felt a little complicated. I was also missing any sounds.
Overall very good job!
Thanks for trying it out! A map and more was originally planned but had to be cut short for time... Hope you had fun either way!
its so cuteee
Thanks for trying! Hope it was nice
This game has potential, please keep developing it. :)
You could maybe add some potions to give you a buff when searching like farther sight or movementspeed. Maybe some Upgrades to the number of items you can carry or craft into a potion. Also some more bioms, some music and some npc.
You could make a great story where you are poisoned by an evil witch and need to cure the poison within more time on hand but make the poison more potent by making it give more debuffs the longer it is active. Maybe the snake (very cute sprite btw) has learned poison from a good witch and need help curing her too.
There are so many ideas and directions you could go. :D
Thanks for the feedback, I don't really think ill further expand on it cause it was a result of my first jam so its messy, but i'm glad to hear you liked the concept!
Cool game! The animations are awesome. I kinda wish I could teleport ‘cause I got lost a few times trying to find that tree stump!
Lol thanks for giving the game a play! Hope you liked the visuals at least :p
These visuals are the best I've seen in this game jam so far! Did you make these all in 7 days?! (I'm impressed)
Yeah! I made everything during the jam, technically I only had like 4 days of jamming though due to taking 3 days off for finals exams. You can tell that there was crunch time due to some systems lacking a bit lol. Anyways hope you liked the game!
Good to think I wasn't the only one, literally the same story.
I hate snakes... But your snake is very cute and truly interesting take on the theme... love the twist where snake is poisoned and need to look for an antidote. Good job
Haha, thanks for playing the game, hope it was appealing!
it was indeed ;)
This was a really good game! The visuals and the perspective on the game are nice. Initially I was overwhelmed by not being able to see around me, but as I played a few runs the limited vision plus the time pressure and deciphering the clues make a really nice package all together! Well done!
Thanks for the kind words! Really hope it wasn't too unguided due to the lack of more helpful hints, couldn't get them out in time! Hope you e joyed though :D
This game looks insanely good!
You nailed it with the graphics - the movement was also very smooth, and the idea of the game was awesome.
Still, I was a little confused on what to do... Maybe that's a me problem, I'm going to replay it later to see if I missed something :p
Thanks for a giving it a try! Nah its not a you problem, I mildly ran outta time to make the game nore obvious and easier lol. Basically you go around to find items then bring them back to the stump to craft an antidote from 3 unique items, the hints for the items are given by clicking on the 3 ailment buttons in top right. Anyways hope you liked the visuals at least :) Learned to not overscope, first game jam syndrome lol
Ps. Loved your game! It's my favourite submission so far
Thx!!
Is this your first jam? You did amazing! It's really hard to find the right scope given the Jam's time limit, and the visuals + gameplay are really good.
But jams are really intended for learning (this is my second time, learned a lot on my first one) and as long as you did, it's already a victory!
Yeah it's my first jam! Actually the scope woulda been fine but had my final highschool exams for the first three days so it cut em short. Regardless i learnt a lot throughout the jam that I'm proud of :) Technically not my first rodeo with game dev, been deving but only on mobile for 4 years, only got first laptop a week before the jam started. Anyways have fun with the rest of the jam games!
visuals are awesome, but i lost the track and reached to the end and didnt know what to do. you can give some hints. overall good visuals and animations.
Thanks for giving it a try! Yeah unfortunately couldn't develop a map in time. Only managed to give hints by pressing on the ailment buttons. Overscoping :< Still hope you liked the visuals though at least!
yupp your pixel art was awesome <3
I love the visuals, very crisp
Thanks for the kind words, hope you liked the visuals!
WOW, AN INTERESTING GAME
Thanks for trying it out! Hope you enjoyed :3
visuals are good, but there are some bugs and i can't understand what to do :(
Thanks for giving it a try! The items were scattered around the map and you can press on the 3 ailments at the top right for hints to the item it needs. But yea i agree the game is a bit unguided though cause ran outta time to make it easier and more obvious what you needed to find.
As for bugs.. are you able to maybe explain any bugs you faced? Cause so far both from my testing and everyone elses the issues have only been the slow and unguided gameplay, i don't think anyone has faced bugs so far except for the map not having a boundary? Unsure.. would love to know what bugs happened if any :D
Really like the art style and overall gameplay but the hints should be more intuitive, it took me 2-3 runs to understand they were hints
Thanks for trying it out! Yea originally was planning on making it easier to find stuff but alas ran outta time. Glad you at least tried it out though!
it was good but there is nothing to guide you
Yea sadly time constraints forced me to not be able to make a map or anything lol, most i could do was add a little hint by pressing on the ailments. Hope you at least had fun though :)
actually, i did, i loved the movement mechanic and the visuals, i think i was the only who was having by only those
really nice game, well made and polished, the movement doesnt feel junky or anything, really smooth, the only problem i faced is getting lost constantly, an indicator to the base would complete the experience.
Thanks for your kind words! Indeed i was originally planning on having a map and "book" to note down locations and notes, but alas TIME came crashing on through :p
ahh I understand, it was overall a really fun experience
nice isometric style and smooth gameplay
Thanks! Hope you enjoyed :)
Such a cool concept! The snake being poisoned is a fun and subversive idea for the theme!
Great and consistent visual, however I do wish there's a indication of where the Home base, I did get lost more than I care to admit
Either way, amazing game! Would love to see it expanded into a full experience
Great job!
Hope it was at least mildly enjoyable! Yea unfortunately didn't manage to do a lot of QOL stuff cause of time but I'm glad you liked the concept!
Slithering into adventure as a poisoned herbalist snake? Brilliant! Love the race against time to brew your own antidote. The diverse biomes and quirky ingredients (lemmings and mice, anyone?) add a fun twist. Can't wait to see how different combos work out!
Love the enthusiasm :p Glad you enjoyed!
