oh yeah that style of art is cool thats a cool game i made some game like that when i was really young ... and i like never finished or released it its like i was just having fun .. and like it was just 1 level and 2 guns and stuff yeah .. but thats really cool !! ... sad that game is like just gone on dead old HD lol .. dang... it was like you a farmer and u got a pitchfork and u get dynamite and a shotgun and there is rats and lol there was the roaming gnome from dumb amazing race lol was some dumb joke with my buddy back then lol.. level was like fields with haybales and some barn u go in but like had thosee 3 weapons and 3 animated sprites .. player rat gnone .. was cool .. gnome had dumb bloody death animation loool ... is like .... 2004 ??

i want to make a cool car game i have like 4 different projects with alot of work in the works ... its very difficult lol
but then ive been trying to do these gamejams ... its a personal goal to myself to like ... do stuff super fast as fast as i can in like ... 2 .. 4 hours whatever i have in a evening and then just push it out looool
its really lame cause the end ... uh... not really a product sucks
but its a interesting personal exercise for me
so
like in 2 hours i was able to like pull these things together here and i started making concept and stuff but then i just decided to push it on here for now
so .. its lame right now .... like i didnt really do any real work on it... i just began a concept and found free assets and brought them into unity and compiled it lmaoo

but if u into wanting to make car game i guess the links are there to some cool starting spot.

i just started today so this is great! im not sure exactly how to make it a good game.. i got some ideas... its been fun messing with the graphics design thanks for the inspiration ill have something real cool soon

oh i had another idea.. lemmings had like a radar minimap.. is just like a radar with blip for the places of the chickens....
and it would kinda fit with your spaceship theme.. altho not exactly knowing where they are is kinda cool too..
maybe it could be like a random upgrade that drops when u kill maybe the tesla turret?? .. like it drops a microchip thingy or something and chicken has to pick it up and bring it into the ship .. idk minimap might actually ruin the feel of having to keep track of where they are too idk
uh sry guys ... its basically trash right now its just what you can see lmao ... >,> .. i thought i would have an extra day or 2 before the jam ended... ... oops. ... i wanted to rush and complete some more of it last night but i was like tired... i did work on it a bit but its like the framework of code...
yeah tutorial missing info .. hmm the hitboxes could be a bit better they seem cheap sometimes... something with not being able to place the pipes to redirect bullets ... u cant place em on the spaceship .. feels lame.. but maybe it makes sense ? as a player it felt lame.. i wanna place pipes on or under the ship...
and then... also when the ship is gone and u got chickens.. hmm stopping them under the ship at first i thought it was gonna squish em .. idk if thatd be too brutal ... its actually feels cool to keep them there too... maybe mark it with like a smoking flare with a circle like its a always safe zone ??? ... or u put like a bloody splat mark on the ground to mark its squish zone??
well at first i didnt know what was goin on.. and then i figure out to rotate lol .. then i didnt even realize it tells you where and when the chickens come from til after i got like 13 score i think it was (me being oblivious to actually nice ui ) .. then i was like ooh.. i felt i can totally get more if i try harder lol game was coool
4 Gameplay love Lemmings kinda game .. i got compelled to get highscore .. could be better eventually
5 Theme is cool .. its like Chicken Run and lemmings and we got a spaceship vs scifi turrets its cool
4 Aesthetics ... i think its awesome! could be higher resolution or something idk.. wish it could look better fullscreen somehow but its like i know how it is .. but yeah..
4 Sound is awesome its funny and the music is tense .. sound could have more polish somehow better turret sounds and spikes and stuff

i got 21 .. one time i coulda almost got 26 lotta chickens on the board but i like got panic and they died lol

awesome game
initially its not my kinda game and i ragequit too easy at this type of game loool
then i went and i at least beat level 1 and tried the hedgehogs level quite a bit til i did ragequit xD
it has a cool presentation and once i got more the hang of it the ball was pretty cool.
this kinda game is well to have a instant reset button.. cause like i thiink the way to beat hedgehogs was to go really fast and steer quick but i botch it alot and the delay of me having to reset it causes ragequit feelings.
(oh u did me from 10, okay i like that i know mine was rushjob lols) .. this is from 5 stars
3 not my kinda game and it could be better .. oh itd be cool if the ball felt more like a ball but thats kinda polish stretch goal stuff i guess..could have instant reset.. could be skyrim >,> lols
4 the story sets up you gotta play to escape decent presentation setup
2 graphics bare bones but its decent its not the worst .. uh ill guess ill force myself to be less generous and say 2.. uh 1 cause its like colored primitives in bare world... nah u get 2 cause there was a cutscene (its hard for me not to say 3 lols)
4 music is awesome cool pick.. ball could make like boingy noises maybe .. i upped it to 4 cause i remember u made a presentation the screaming was funny
if you go all the way down the river there is the tent and the game ends, gotta get close to the tent or dock... but yeah the river kinda too long and the croc isnt hard enough.. i wanted it to be relaxing but yeah its a bit too relaxing.
yeah there is definitely rush job problems goin on ... i wanted to make a fps asset Easy Character Movement 2 work where i can enter the canoe and the canoe is really good and all that .. and i was working on it but time was running out and i hastily made up some kinda simple controllers of my own but was tooo rush and not figuring out all the problems.
(Easy Character Movement 2 is really good ive spent like ~4~6~months before making my own kinematic controller ..based on like 2 papers of pseudocode which suck (and my attempt sucked) b4 i bought KCC... and then i had to spend forrever tweaking KCC... and then ECM2 came along and its just better and solves what i wanted... (kinematic important for highquality mp) )

game is like really cool concept wow i wanna make one like this now lol, i might try it in Godot...im so used to trying complicated things i like this is just clicker and its compelling
id suggest Player can click on hearts to suicide .. (cause i botch the keypad and its just over, gotta reset ... gotta reset like some NES games got sweet instant reset)
yeah Roary starts to the left of the level and is always chasing player kinda slow cause for me i was stopping alot to shoot at birds so it felt like good pace to me but i know he is really slow lol. and he roars every like 5 seconds or so and you hear him if he is really close to you ... so its like you can stop and shoot at birds at leisure and when he is close you get a warning.
thanks yeah theres alot of rush job especially since i was working on a much complex systems and then unfortunately rush coded to make a "complete enough thing" in time and its kinda sloppy... i could def fix this up soon ..

.. if its working totally right... actually his hit box is small by his head.. when you hear the dink you are hitting him... (the arrows on the ground hurt him when he walks into them too should be fixed) you do 1 - 5 damage per arrow and he has 100 life ... and he gives 10 points if u kill him ... felt he should be killable but really hard .. he supposed to be menacing pressure in a chillout bow vs birds game.
i was thinking maybe he should have like a tidal wave and its basically like a death wall that forces you down the path so its like a time attack get as many birds as you can before you are forced to exit the map ... but idk.. actually i wanted to make a really nice canoe mechanisms but i didnt have the time to make that into the jam... i want to make a nice canoe for a larger game i wanna make.

I think i want to make a cat cafe game .. or pet game .. something with cute animals and playing with animals and cute nice scenery.
maybe somehow like stardew or like the rustic cute scenery of like minecraft ( i have a idea in my mind how its decorated cute)

i have been inspired and gonna make a thing with the 1bit kenney pack sl1ngshot set up for us thanks for starting inspiration hope you feel well soon
it is great this asset pack has a great set of programmer art all set up for us and then we can just make stuff
alot of times .. i got buncha cool good looking unity assets.. and ill get stuck up in making my environments look great, but now i get to code and just have simple art.
i used https://ezgif.com/sprite-cutter this tool to cut the spritesheet into individual images so i can put them on 3d cubes.. or quads lol .. i dont plan to alter the images or the colors or any pixels just to use this to make it easier to work with and then ill use SuperCombiner to make it back into a texture atlas lol ... actually could just use blender and set the UVs to match to the sprite sheet too hmm.. whatever...
i guess technically the best thing would be to seperate the sheet into optimal 8x ~ images for each category (geometry, props, monsters, items, ui) ... but . shrug.. .. ~ (by scene set of each level)
