About moving the train, a very small teleport as well as a few particles or any other visual cue along with also building up speed is what I was referring to when repeatedly pressing the down key, but it's just a suggestion and I don't know if it would feel better for the game or it would actually make it worse :P How it is now is fine and I'd get used to it after a while. I think the train speed depending on the size of the train is a good idea too, but as I always tell myself on designing games, no one really knows if it's good or not until you try it, so good luck! And keep making great games ;)
Hi The0r :P
This is a nice and simple game to play! I like the idea and simplicity of the gameplay. Outside of a game jam, a tutorial level would have been pretty good because I was confused for a little bit on what to do. Perhaps not spawning any zombies until the player mines 1 or 2 ores would have been enough as a mini-tutorial so the player could get a feel with the game. Also, maybe repeatedly pressing the down key to move the whole train would be better so it would have a more immediate feedback to the player instead of just holding down the down key to gradually move the train. I think this way, it wouldn't feel that "slow". Other than that, I think this quite a good game for a 2-day game jam. The art and gameplay feel great together. Moving the train to align the carts to the ores is quite fun as the main game mechanic and if you were to update and build on top of that, this game would be a fun game to play on-the-go on my phone. Very cool and great job! ;)
Hi Theor :P
I played through the whole game and wow. I'm blown back by the direction you took for this game. I love the simplicity of the art. It looks beautiful even though the art design is quite simple. It took me a while to get the mechanics of the puzzles so perhaps when the player struggles for about a minute, you can show an arrow that points down above a pillar. Other than that, the game mechanics are nice and the puzzles have a nice progression in difficulty so good job. :D
It's really inspiring to see and play this game from start till finish. I've been a quite unmotivated to make games recently because of issues I don't want to get into but in short, thank you. It's inspiring to see the games you've been making and it's quite nice to see how far your journey as a game dev has taken you. Amazing work and a joy to play.
5/5 :D
Hi Theor :P
I love the atmosphere of the game! It had that spark create some curiosity within the player. The visuals and audio complemented each other very well to create that immersive atmosphere. I also just love minimalist games :P They're all quite pleasing to the eye!
I wanted to get all the endings when I saw that the ending I got was ending 1. So I played it multiple times, looking for hidden buttons and spamming left click on everything, but only got ending 1 and 2. Perhaps a few subtle nudges towards the endings that are a bit difficult to get would be helpful to players like me :P
Overall it looks fantastic! I just wish that moving platform was a bit less buggy :P
Thanks for playing! I realized that maybe I should lean into the claustrophobic nature of a dungeon crawler so I made the dungeon quite tight. I might decide to release this game on mobile if I my time allows me, but I'll update the desktop version of the game to support keyboard controls when the game jam's rating period ends. Thanks again!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA XD Hi TheoR :P
I actually love horror games so I sometimes study what makes them atmospheric and scary so I'm glad it scared a lot of people. Thanks for the feedback! I suck at UI so I made the screen a fixed width and height (and also because I was running out of time) :P
Thank you very much for playing!
Thanks for playing! I really like making juicy games :P I did actually have a mobile mindset when making this game and I do think it would be really nice to be played on mobile. I wasn't able to add in extra features because I was running out of time but I could add those in the future if I decide to expand on this game. Thank you very much for the feedback! I very much appreciate it!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad that my game took an interest to a number of speedrunners :P but I didn't design and plan this game to actually be meant for speedrunning. However, I'm still quite thrilled to learn that there are speedrunners who like to speedrun my game! It's fine if they rejected my game. Perhaps in the future, I'll make a parkour game that's designed for speedrunning. Thanks again!
